One thing I don't understand about MYMU

Mages are bieng steered towards buying mana instead of mana regen so once they run out they are basically out of the fight. That would be fine if other classes worked liked that as well but they do not. Tanks and fighters get access to Life steal, Health and health regen with items like item 3748 item 3074 item 3065 item 3102 item 3083. Supports can build both mana and mana regen and the worst offender are the marksmen. While they dont build health, mana, mana regen or health regen, they do builditem 3072 or other items with life steal and caster marksmen additionally build item 3508 that not only can it potentially grants more CD than any mage item but also restores mana fairly easy. If your a caster adc low on mana and health, take a quick trip around the jungle and your ready for round 2 without having to back. So my question is, why are mages the only class that are not getting a way to restore their main resource.

II think it's misdirection to compare mages' mana to tanks' hp. Bruisers and whatnot can also go oom, and there are already no real options for regen on them. Essence reaver gives conditional mana back through certain gameplay, as will some of the new mage items.

The biggest difference for mages is the way they do their job, so to speak. Mages bring lots of damage and cc to the table, usually in bursts. They are only tempered, furthermore, by their resource pool. With the item changes, it strikes me that mana will actually be a gating mechanism now, rather than "buy this item and never go oom again". This gives mages generalized windows of power and perhaps allows us to buff their contribution while they have mana

The only place I totally see where youre coming from is lategame. Mages, if played right, will have to b more frequently than any other class, which is an unnecessary liability imo.

Actually, since mages are supposed to be building mana now, they do not go oom in fights, only in extended siege situations that were set-up improperly (no blue buff control, no dragon control, not taking Meditation...).

Ever face a Darius late game and see them go OOM??

Cause I sure havent. they get HUGE scaling pools on top of small costs. And more if they build a mana Item. Which is common, looking at you Iceborn.

I see what he's saying because mages get Average mana pools on top of HUGE costs. So huge they brought in an Item to get flat 25% efficiency on casts. it is very obvious this is what they want to do.

5 years from now. In the end Mages will get ONE combo feast or Famine. Huge costs all with items to restore mana on Kills and assists to continue the cycle.

I won't rush it...but new morello WILL be the 3rd buy before going into team fights.

Implying mages are the only champions that use mana.

The tradeoff is that mages are dishing out enormous damage from range that isn't easily blocked or ignored. A mage without resource requirements is.... well, URF was just on this weekend. That's pretty much what you get. Some fighters (but not all) have their skills gated through mana, which for them is more or less treated like a stamina meter, and are balanced around this. Darius and Renekton have an AOE Q, but Darius' hits harder, it's larger, and it builds up his momentum (figurative and literal) to start murderballing with his ult, on top of the bleed effect AND the self heal. Renekton has a heal, but it's not much and that's about it.

A mage's only real defense is anything that puts a wall between them and the enemy as well as the player's ability to dodge shots without easy access to mobility like Lee Sin, Yasuo or Lucian. They aren't meant to be able to sustain themselves through spell vamp, since that eliminates their primary weakness.
