Ranked matchmaking?

Even ranked matchmaking is starting to suck. The thing that got people playing ranked instead of normals was that ranked mm used to be fair, but after 3 games such as this one

Not necessarily, I've played against a full team of golds that I've gotten quads on before and stomped them.

Joking aside, it was 5 Bronze 5's vs 4 bronze 5's and a bronze 4. So it's even.

Everyone who hasn't played ranked at all wants to dive in and do their placements, and Riot defaults them to Silver 3 (plus or minus how good they actually did).
People who weren't doing great in ranked suddenly want to dive back in to try and push to the end
Players with smurf accounts want to get the skin on all of their smurfs, just because they can.

All of it adds up to make a miserable experience.

Well, at the ends of the curve, it's hard to get enough people from the same skill level to make a proper game, because there aren't enough people at the ends. Usually, you hear people in Diamond/Master complain about it, but it's also true for the bottom of Bronze 5, actually.

My point is: it's not Riot doing a bad job, it's a fundamental problem, so it's not new, and Riot can't do anything about it.

Try to climb just a bit higher, even in Bronze 2 or 3 it's already much better. ;)
