Is it?

I already asked about that, and sadly @meddler answered me that there is nothing planned for Lissandra. We'll just have to go with her useless passive... Let's hope at least for a new skin after 2 years of wait

i dont find her passive uleless, underpowered but not useless, i can vividly remember becoming oom very quickly and having that passive save my ass multiple times

Well i main Lissandra , and trust me , after 25 minutes build , that passive is more than useless

same, i just got her lvl 5 and i know your pain lol but i still stand with it isnt useless, extremely underpowered but not useless

The reason she goes oom is because she has the worst mana regeneration in the game at every level except 1 and 2, and she has very high mana costs early on. The reason she has the low mana regen and high mana costs at early levels is because of her passive. The passive wouldn't be necessary if not for her absurdly bad mana management problems, but her absurdly bad mana management is only there because of the passive.

You could literally delete her passive and give her more standard mana costs/regen and have no real change to the character. As far as I'm concerned, that's pretty useless. It's about as useless as anything gets in this game.

Orianna feels way worse.

I'm not sure why you wrote that or how you expect me to respond. Did I imply that she didn't? Are we talking about Ori's design and/or balance now? I mean, I can if you want to, but it seems like a pretty out-of-nowhere change in topic.

Orianna feels way worse.

Ori has every single one of her problems solved by one of Athene's/ArchAngel's/Morello's, though you must be good at mana management early game for the Morello's. You know why? Her base mana regen isn't pathetic.

Also, when she IS OOM, she has her passive, which is actually very strong. Another thing is that she can use that passive for harass early. No need to waste mana, unlike Lissandra.

But we're all missing the real issue here. If Lissandra becomes strong for any reason, she'll just end up being a top laner due to how her kit functions. She'll always be a dominant pick in pro matches if she's buffed any reasonable amount.

Honestly, she needs a total rework. Its pretty low-key, but her kit isn't healthy.

Agreed. How about we fix her mana problems and then we give her a new and actually good passive? For instance, instead of the mana, she gets a shield for x damage every y seconds, which is reduced by z seconds for every enemy she CCs. It could be like an ice shield, like she forms this layer of ice around herself.

The complication to that is that pretty much anything she could get would make her stronger, and she doesn't have a ton of room for straight power increases. There's also finding something that works with her gameplay pattern (for example, I don't think a shield is a great idea because it lowers the pressure to use the ult as a defensive tool and it adds power that isn't really specific to her exact purpose), making sure you have enough room in the power budget to make the new mechanic functional, and finding out what power we're willing to take away from her if the straight buff a new passive would give ends up being too much.

It should be a goal to eventually change the passive into something more interesting, but I do think that actually implementing a new passive would probably end up being a lot more work than it looks like.

Oh, true. . . Hmmm. I honestly have no idea what could be implemented then. This is hard. Very hard.

like ryze passive?

Well you said it all there

kaltenashes9 votes

i hate zyra's passive, i can only kill people that forget she has her passive, hope they'll change both passive (zyra and liss)

GrReaper961 votes

Meh even a clean hit deals like 1/10 of their health at most

ShadowParker3 votes

If you can land it; sure! There's just a .50 delay with .25 sec delay on where you can actually shoot

UrgotSexSimbol4 votes

pretty sure no plus they are watching only at immobile mages

Weasel Kensei3 votes

Liss passive is a joke to be sure, its only slightly helpful.

Nagma2 votes

no because this useless passive will stay forever because riot is biased and because illluminati and because no ispartion no swag gg unluck s6 wtf omgh rofl lol XD lmao

JFRANKSTA2 votes

her passive makes zero sense.... its cool down is way too long and the only way to shorten it is to spam your q........ but if you spam your q u just go oom super fast so whats the point? give her Xerath's passive

MadFuhrer1 votes

W a minion wave... much more effective at lowering its cooldown

I have a pretty amazing idea for her passive.

Iceborn 18 Cooldown

Lissandra's next ability periodically becomes empowered, and has no cost.

Ice Shard [Q] slow is now applied to all targets. If it hits a single target, the slow is instead doubled to 32 / 38 / 44 / 50 / 56%.

Ring of Frost [W] radius and root duration is increased by 50%. Root Duration: 1.65 / 1.80 / 1.95 / 2.10 / 2.35

Glacial Path [E] travels 50% faster, and cooldown is reduced by 50% on cast.

Frozen Tomb [R] dark ice expands immediately around its target.

Iceborn's cooldown is reduced by 1 second every time Lissandra applies crowd control to an enemy with her abilities, excluding crowd control spell effects from items.

Of course, numbers can be tweak but I think this makes for feasible and appealing options between her abilities and which to use Iceborn with. Lissandra's suffering a bit right now, in my opinion. She's not in a horrible spot, but she's not in a good spot either and her abilities don't really offer her a lot of closure in what she should be doing as a low-ranged control mage. These are all my opinions, of course.

the thing what i hate about lissandra is, she gets a good passive for her kit BUT! the thing is, the made her mana cost really high and im like wtf? Why would lissandra have a passive that gives 0 mana cost while her Q cost 80 mana and you can't spam it? it would've been better if it was like 60 mana and another passive.

cuz why would you add that kind of passive and give her high mana cost? like there is no logic behind that.

Abyssphere1 votes

Mage update is only for the immobile, damage-focused ones. Lissandra's already mobile and heavily focused on crowd control. Chances are she's not being touched.

SpongebobIsLife1 votes

I don't thinkt hey plan on touching liss at all really. The ult bult buff was because they couldn't think of anyway to meaningfully buff her passive.

NostolgicSkies1 votes

you would think riot would ask the community what mages they feel fit into league and dont atm along with what the community feels about how well each mage feels thematically and what mages identities where not met. but thats just my opinion.

Catastrop1 votes

Her ult healing was their solution to not finding a passive for, so I doubt they'll do anything. Also, Lissandra isn't exactly immobile, and her kit overall is quite good.
