End of Communication and Respect between Riot and Players
Is what this preseason represents.
To be fair this isn't old news in my opinion. People didn't want Morde made into some dumb melee adc but they did it anyways it was broken and didn't work.
People told them Yasuo and Trynd would be broken with new masteries and guess what they still released it. Sure they mad ea hot fix but the fact that they had to in the first place was stupid.
I feel as if Riot and its player base are at arms now more than ever. Anything they try to do is labelled idiotic and unbalanced and to be fair a lot of it is just because it preseason and as usually they try to do too much at a time. However, this takes the cake. Never have I seen the boards so upset and never have I seen so little Red posts actually relating to the matter. The PBE feedback is ignored unless its about bugs and the game is still bug laden anyways. The Riot change train has no brakes and is going off a cliff without listening to player concerns or warnings which so far have been right.
Games are too fast APC are useless as are towers Crit and the reworked adcs are mostly too strong
However Rito is apparently ok with all this. **THIS **is the direction they apparently want their game to go in. A fast one man carry over by 10 minute fest so that LCS is quick and flashy. Strategy? Teamwork? No we gotta have fast games with one man/lane getting fed and deciding it all.
And they do have a right to govern the game as they see fit. They do make it and allow us to play it for free after all. But this isn't what makes a healthy game. Ignoring your player base is just as detrimental as the player base continuously hating the developers.
This preseason is a turning point, not in balance for that has never and will never be achieved. But a turning point in communication. Riot has their heads in the sand afraid to come out and rationalize/explain their changes or admit to mistakes made so far. And why? Because we are angry at the lack of communication or fixing or reverting of the mistakes and, lets face it, most of us don't like the direction they are taking this game. Riot believes what they are doing is right and think we are all just butthurt cause of the preseason but this is a big issue. If what we say doesn't matter any more than Riot thinks we, as players, are expendable. The anger and frustration on one side is clashing with the indifference and fear of defending decisions on the other.
Boards are hell.Balance is hell. And League will suffer for it if we and Riot don't come to a compromise on the massive headache that is preseason 6
