why doesn't thresh auto-collect souls if he lands the killing blow?

I play solo lane thresh sometimes (tis fun), and its annoying that I have to go to pick up the souls of minions that I last hit, even though from a thematic standpoint we could assume that Thresh would drag his target's soul back with his hook.

The whole point of his passive is to be a gate/something you can play against Thresh.

If you zone him from his souls in the laning phase, he is actually pretty fragile as a tank. This zoning is specifically highlighted in his champion spotlight and is intended design.

Also, if you really want to pick up souls from far away, don't forget that lantern absorbs souls from range. It also grants vision, which a lot of players ignore, even though it has a massive cast range and can be used to check bushes from a very safe distance.

A buff for solo lane Thresh, a buff for relic shield Thresh, and a buff that doesn't really make Thresh too powerful in bot lane for his support role?

I don't like Thresh, but I can't deny this isn't a bad ~~QoL ~~buff. Besides, I like it when supports are allowed to solo lane.

As much as I hate Thresh I agree.

That's not a Qol buff lol, you don't know what a QoL buff is

A QoL buff would be like adding a passive stack timer to jax's ult as a buff

This is a buff

^ I agree.

A QoL buff does not make a champion stronger, only makes her kit clearer.

An example of a QoL buff for Thresh would be to make the souls that are about to disappear a different colour.

My apologies, you are absolutely correct on that being an a complete buff.

If I may ask, what is your opinion of it? Should Thresh be left alone in that case? Second thoughts do make me think that since he is technically a ranged champion with his aa, it might reduce some risk for his passive.

I would not mind that, as long as Thresh no longer has those randomly flying souls from like 2000 units away

Thresh seems to automatically collect some souls. I don't know if they're random minions or champion souls, but I DO see souls drift towards me from a distance before they expire.

If anyone knows what triggers that, thanks.

I read somewhere (I don't remember where) that it is actually a bug in the despawn animation of the souls. He isn't actually collecting the souls that are out of his range - its just visual. Rather than playing the despawn animation like it should, its playing the collection animation.

It makes thematic sense, and I believe it would have negligible impact on his balance, so why not.

Only his lantern can collect souls...

as long as they fix him randomly getting souls when not even near them and without using lantern fuck spending the laning phase zoning him out just to get a assload of free stats

Probably BECAUSE it would be a buff to solo lane Thresh.
