..was Fiora played anywhere else, pre-rework? Heck, outside of a few hardcore mains, was sheplayed at ALL pre-rework? Poppy is in the same place. So what if she becomes a midlaner? At least she'll be played midlane.

Fiora was one of the staples of low elo I think.

The typical low elo team was:

Fiora MasterYi Katarina Ezreal Annie .

Because having 1 squishy low CC carry isn't enough. You need 5.

I believe she was played in many lanes pre rework. Jungle fiora worked because of her passive and parry, live fiora literally only has her q aand e in the jungle, while old fiora had her entire kit excluding ult. Sure jungle fiora wasn't very feasible but it was possible, Pre rework fiora also went mid some times, especially against melee mid laners. It is a fairly unsafe assumption saying outside of mains that there were no fiora players, her pick rate was actually on par to someone like garen which, had a decent pick rate. I loved the rework, but they could have easily increased diversity for her by allowing her passive to work on jungle camps, or at least epic monsters (Vayne gets to deal her true damage on jungle mobs, why not fiora?) If poppy becomes a mid laner, that's ok i wouldn't be to mad either, you are right when it comes to the fact that at least people will play her, but riots always going on and on about how diversity is great, while at the same time, they're actually killing it. In the patch 5.16 rundown, the boy with glasses across from scarizard claimed diversity is a great thing, while at the same time, was talking about the juggernauts. Sure, getting a champion picked more is a good thing, but it is DEFINITELY possible to get a champion to be picked more, and to be diverse.
