Teleport changes brutal?

As a top lane main, I've been playing around with the new Teleport and..Am I the only one thinks its ridiculously weak now? Sure it can still change fights but the change from 3.5 to 4.5 is pretty hard to deal with in my opinion, I think it should be around 3.75 ~ 4.25 seconds. to try and lower the damage it causes..Usually when I'm teleporting back to lane it isn't that much of an issue, but when you're trying to gank a lane that extra second can determine if the fight is going to continue or they're gone, I just don't think this change is the best for the champs who are reliant on it. What does everyone else think? I feel it needs buffed in some way,

Teleport nerf is extremely stupid and just limits top lane power, which was already pretty pathetic as often the jungler gets stronger due to both top laners lane controlling each other at higher levels. Riot thinks teleporting bot lane gave easy kills. While if you did find a good spot to teleport often it would still be a poor play because it would enable the enemy laner to push, causing you to potentially lose a tower on top of losing a lot of xp and gold from minions. If you lose both the tower and the minions xp and gold chances are you're now going to get shat on in lane with a level disadvantage if you go back.

So really stupid change, it's impossible to really do a teleport ''gank'' the charge up gives the enemy team a ridiculous amount of time to react. I think the best thing Riot can do is to revert their retarded change. Probably ADC mains at Riot making the balance calls for top lane this season from what I've seen though.

I think you need to reread that. We all know how absurd such a suggestion is.

No no. The better solution will be to keep the awful change and just attempt to fix it by changing up a tonne of other stuff around it, completely unnecessarily! I see no reason why that could backfire whatsoever! (Now read that previous statement in the most sarcastic voice you can conjure)

I might have to try this. I use TP everygame but you really feel that extra second of channeling time when you REALLY need to be somewhere.

Freeza with an I1 votes

I might too. I can't teleport anywhere without it feeling like I'm wasting my time!

everytime i tp to gank now the enemy team is like " oh hey why so slow we'll just walk the other way bye bye"

So, it still works to zone the other team off an objective so your team can take it?

that or other summoners can also work like smite or ignite, personally i really like smite.

just think of it this way, smite can give you a 60 seconds or less, combat summoner that either slows and steals their movespeed, which is good vs ganks or if your ally is ganking. Or gives bonus true damage sight if applied (very good vs vayne) and reduces their damage by 20% so its like a mini exhaust which is a strong one for duelling.

then the jungle item gives like a trillion gazillion billion manaregen if you step 2 feet out of lane so that can be helpfull

And killing scuttler provides you with extra vision (and allows you to deny kindred) and is like a free bag of hp regen aswell.

And on the topic of hp regen, throw an ability on a jungle camp and gain 100 health back easy so free pots all the time i guess

And there is more, much more

You get to grab jungle monster buffs, like gromps poison skin to damage enemies when they poke you or trade which will help you win those trades. Or kruggs heavy hands, more easy scuttle killing will help kill minions too and deal more damage vs tower, more like chunking it really hard. Smite the raptors to clear wards smite blue buff if you are oom kill wolfes for vision and help contest objectives. And the best part about this is the amount of versatility this gives no other summoner has dueling power ganking power and a whole pile of buffs to choose from. Also you dont even have to kill the camps for the buff, but every camp only spawns with 1 buff to take so it doesnt give anymore untill it respawns the cool thing about this is that you can deny all these buffs from your opponent by walking into his jungle and smiting his camps.

Ive won many a lane by walking into it with a gromp posion skin buff allowing me to win every trade early on. Ive also put many junglers behind by smiting their redbuff stealing the heal, and by the time they come to take red they are like shit i smited it why didnt it heal and now they have to back without taking red putting them behind a full minute in time at least compared to our jungle which has quite a large impact one you will see as the game progresses however some junglers are more affected then others some can just take red regardless.

Another thing you can do is outlevel your opponent by grabbing jungle camps and gaining bonus xp.

And finally you can buy one of the jungler items, many of them are discount versions of other items but they are cheaper, and offer a few unique stats. Getting to a full item way before your opponent can and gaining the powerspike of it will allow you to bully your opponent most of the time untill they complete their first item. Its not always a huge advantage depending on which item you will get but enough to extend your lead. Ive found that warrior gives the biggest powerspike foilowed by bloodrazor then runic echo and cinderhulk, whilst cinderhulk and bloodrazor scale the best.

Just look at this list of advantages you can grab over your opponent with 1 summoner. That being said sometimes teleport had a larger impact when you could go bot to countergank or when splitpushing. But with the time increase reliance on your support to deward a bush and put a ward in it for ''stealth'' ganks is even bigger now and its even more important to set plays up so reactionary plays wont work well anymore. If your team can't provide this then teleport becomes kind useless

Ignite is still better for securing early kills and ghost is also a good option if you dont want to be kited. Exhaust can also be quite a good one it provides cc armor reduction and damage reduction works vs against ganks is good in allins and helps when you get a gank. its also an underused option imho.

please just take teleport lmao what the fuck

Spoofghoul2 votes

yep lets do that starts teleporting on a very awkwardly placed ward because people suck at warding then when you get there the enemy team has taken 5 tower 7 dragons won 3 games went hom ate a pizza watched a game of football then started up league again continued walked back to lane and was just in time to back off before your teleport completed

yea mate tp is soooooooooooooooo strong right now

EROTIC RAID BOSS1 votes

its mandatory top lane, even if you can't use it to destroy bot lane in the lane phase. taking smite because of a small nerf is some boosted ass behavior

Spoofghoul2 votes

that reasoning tho

''its mandatory''

no its not

The only reason to take tp is to destroy botlane or prevent it with counterganking 4,5 is too long for this kind of reactionary play Other then that splitpushing in which case you can tp to help contest but again alot can happen in 4,5 seconds

the summoner is plain bad right now

You take the summoner you can best use to win your game not the one which is ''mandatory'' The only reason people think its mandatory is because everyone is taking it and thats sheeple behavior, it doesnt make you better then other people it makes you exactly the same as them thus not belonging in a higher bracket thus qualifying as ''boosted ass behavior''

Thinking outside of the box is how the meta changes, adapting to the meta to perform well is one thing being ahead of it is how you climb

EROTIC RAID BOSS1 votes

You need it in top lane because yes you need to new able to join fights. Not just about destroying bot early game you need it late game. Imo it's equivalent to heal on an adc. Even nerfed it's still very important. Without it you either give up a lot of wave control across the map or you can't fight with your team while split pushing

That's the point. They want teleport to require setup.

Hello. I'm a high diamond mid main, and I too wasn't exactly excited about the nerf to teleport either. I'm a pretty avid teleport user, and I didn't need to play with the new teleport to know that it would be so much weaker. The problem is, you have to think from a bot lane perspective. Once you get really good at using teleport, you can really punish other lanes for going even marginally over aggressive in lane. If your bot lane starts to lose a 2v2, then you can easily teleport down for one or two kills. If the enemy bot lane was chasing down your adc or support for a kill, and walked just up to the caster creeps, then you could easily teleport to a minion or to a ward, and the ward wouldn't even have to be terribly deep. The ability to use teleport in this way definitely says something for who a better solo laner is, but what about the better bot lane? Are you just always doomed as a bot laner if an enemy solo laner is just better at using teleport than yours? Yeah, pretty much.

The change to teleport means that you have to over extend further as a bot lane, in order to be so susceptible to a teleport gank. And believe me, you didn't have to over extend very far to be susceptible to a teleport gank before the changes. You can still use teleport for lane, and you can still use teleport to make plays in other lanes. It's just not so easy to punish bot laners for trying to win lane.

EROTIC RAID BOSS2 votes

I think it's great. clearly you guys never play bot lane. getting 5 manned in the laning phase is pretty bullshit. TP is still a really strong almost mandatory summoner for top lane

nice table2 votes

why not make the least impactfull role even less impactfull? sounds like a good time.

SwiftKitten881 votes

i think it would be ok if for the first second of the teleport the place your teleporting was only visible to your team. and the last 3.5 seconds the enemy can see.

they would be able to see your channel if they have vision on you but they wont see your location until the first second of the channel is over this way you still take as long to tele but the enemy still has the same time to react as they used to.

this would also allow the people who time their skills to land right as the tele end to have an easier time as pretty much everyone is still used to 3.5

the ONLY issue i can see with this, is that your opponent might notice something funny if you tele to a minion and it randomly stops moving and becomes immune to damage. it kinda a giveaway but most of the time people TP to wards anyways.

EROTIC RAID BOSS1 votes

totally defeats the purpose of the change

Buff top lane champions in general, sick of lack of top lane champion selection diversity. The teleport nerf doesn't make me as sad as topdyr Udyr being not viable in high elo and JarvanIV being shuved into the jungle.

Playing top feels like just a solo 1vs1 till mid or late game

MigYalle1 votes

I agree, too much time to react now.

LatetotheRace1 votes

I don't even know why they changed it. Possibly make it teleport quicker to turrets?

Freeza with an I1 votes

Yeah. There's no reason to use it on turrets anymore, it used to give you a reason to but now you're just slow on all teles and have a long CD on all

Sire Hippington1 votes

Since the nerf, i usually gank lanes by walking there and use tp to get back to lane. 4.5 sec when everyon and his mother has plenty of options to disengage means that you need a perfect ward behind them that is just far enough away to not see the tp to make anything happen with tp, else your opponents will always be able to notice tp and get to a save position in time.

Though more often than not, i just don't use tp anymore and rather snowball with a combat summoner on my 1v1 island.

Dr Poro1 votes

Maybe it should scale from 4.5 to 3.5 seconds? Early game, 3.5 seconds wasn't enough for the opponents to escape as they don't have boots yet, but during the lategame, you can regroup easily within that time and you're usually screwed when tp'ing in (or the fight is already over).

The problem with this is that it would be harder for opponents to time their skill shots (which I am currently having a lot of trouble with), so I think there should be 1 or 2 breakpoints where the cast time would change and these break points should be clear to anyone. Maybe after 20 minutes or something.

zlumpy1 votes

I could see that. TP has very little use late game outside of a few niche times like a random minion wave has actually pushed to enemy base with the enemy on other side of map. And early game people can still do a super aggresive bot crush via teleport and take tower into dragon. Yeah you lose a turret but depending on the dragon it may be worth it.

zlumpy1 votes

Thats the thing. They don't want people teleporting into fights anymore. It is an effort to reduce snowball and having a lane get completely rekt/crippled.

Drugoth1 votes

I think teleport is more of an anticipatory summoner spell and the change to 4.5 second cast reflects this. Although the change does suck it does reinforce my point. You should be thinking ahead when you use teleport. Not casting it just to react to a play that the enemy team is forcing.

MAN OF INTELLECT1 votes

Potential midlane abuse of teleport also (think champions such as Veigar). Teleport and ignite are both popular spells across multiple lanes.

Masala Chai1 votes

It's actually a buff for Lourlo

Maybe then he can be given a little more time to think about teleporting onto a dying turret all alone with three members sieging.

EddardStark841 votes

No champ is reliant on TP. It only became a "thing" when it was buffed to high hell and back. What the fuck?
