Look at the mmr and the other team compared to mine. Yep thats exactly what happen.

Basically it wants to see if youre pulling your weight (or more) vs being carried, so it puts you with people a bit under you, or in this situation, puts you against people above you. I remember doing my placements, winning all of them up to the last one, and then getting absolutely crushed in the last game. There was just nothing I could do. Unfortunately, the human element is too big of a variable to control, so regardless of the actual MMR, it could be better or worse.
