After testing some Runes on the PBE I wonder why press the attack also boosts your damage by 6-12%

It already provides infinitely stacking AD so the damage increase just feels as if it's tacked on for no other reason to have SOME damage in the runes. It feels cheap and somewhat of a bandaid and I would like to know why it's like this and why it just isn't a two part keystone with damage increase for mages and infinitely stacking ad for adc's and bruisers.

It provide infinitely stacking AP too.

That may help but I'd prefer to see something different for mages and at the same time I like that one. It's just the fact that It won't feel good on mages to stack it specially sinc ethe way it's worded it's seem that spells might work... But how will it works with AoE? I don't have the time to download it to try it out.

What?

Whoops quoting went wrong x)

I'm confused because the keystone doesn't give AP. Are you maybe thinking of Gathering Storm?

The preseason page is incorrect or not updated then, it only lists AD, and no percentage damage increase.

Yup it isn't updated. It should be the patch before the pre-season hit live - at least that's what I hope.

By the way, do you know how Press the Attack works with spells? Do they stack it as well, and if so, can it only stack once per spell?

I don'tknow - and as I stated don't have the time yet to download PBE. That's why I said I think it's weird. The wording feels like it should works with spells (since they stated Attacks and not Basic Attacks). But I don't how will it work with AoE.

Then where did you get your image from?

Because infinitely stacking anything breaks the game based on elo. Like nasus, or Veigar, or Cho, or Kindred.

Most of these things aren't badly designed, but someone at Rito is basically a dumbass.

The main issue that I have with Press the Attack is that the stacks decay really... really.... slowly...

Also while it won't be a factor under normal play, you don't lose the stacks gained when you die, but they will decay before you either spawn, or get back into the fighting again.

I think that all stacks should be lost if hard CC'd.

it only applies infinite stacking if you are hitting the exact same champion the whole time. once you swap targets it resets the rune (or so ive seen)

They soon will try to make press the attack to give AP/AD adaptive. Not on PBE yet though.

Was testing Press the attack on AP Nami earlier on PBE. Was definitely interesting...

  1. Attack a bunch of times
  2. Get a lot of stacking AP
  3. Use Ebb & flow
  4. ?????
  5. Profit
