The Deplorable State of Season 6
I could ramble on but I won't, I'll be as direct as possible and we can argue details in the comments below.
Season 6 Has been Awful in terms of Balance and Fun.
Preseason was Disgraceful: There were so many changes and blatantly broken item and mastery combinations that went through that balance was never achieved. This is normal for preseasons but what made this one awful was that nothing was really fixed by the time it ended. Games were still too fast, AD itemization was still dominant and the ADC update failed to help more than the select few of broken Right-clickers that benefited from the new items.
So far Season 6 has been Disgusting: The same issues that were prevalent in pre-season remain and some are even worse. New items keep being added to break the game even more while we're still playing "Broken Mastery of the Week" From Warlords, to Thundelords, to Deathfire to Grasp of the Undying. . Not to mention how many other overpowered or toxic build paths and champion combinations remain. There's:
Graves with anything in any lane
-On hit champions with the Rageblade and Devourer into full tank which the most stupid and toxic thing I've ever had the
of witnessing.
-Game pacing and timing is still stupidly skewed for the early game and snowballing while towers give less for a champion than one
.
-Tank Fiora and Yi are still running rampant.
-Mage itemization and state is underpowered significantly compared to any AD counter part.
- and much more.
Nothing has been fixed to a well balanced state while everything that has been added has only served to further ruin the game. On the other hand everything added was also not asked for while other stuff was removed without being asked for as well. examples: Teambuilder, Solo Q, Dominion, the viability of anyone in midlane against an AD champion
And to top if off,
Future Season 6 is going to be Dispicable:
So halfway through the year almost and only now is Riot "looking" not fixing mind you but "looking" at death timers and towers to help with pacing while they still don't have a direct fix for the other issues listed above.
The Mid year Mage update which is the sole reason many people have still played this game has been revealed to be a gutting of Mana regeneration and nerfs to many AP items with the sole consolation of a few Gimmicky Actives which are most likely to be abused by people they weren't intended for.
^This really bites me since Riot had said before the mage update wouldn't be near the same level as the ADC update when it came to itemization changes So.....yeah they're just changed the entire way the class builds and fights making them more susceptible to AD's overpowering them. Thanks. Why not call it a down-grade instead of an update?
And if they lied about the scale of changes to the items what about the mages they're reworking? Are Vel'koz's very minor tweaks going to turn out to be a complete Mordekaiser level of a screw up?
Well fuck-a-doodle doo and good day to you Riot! I waited half a year for this update and it's a disappointment from the get go like the rest of this season has been
The real coup de grace here is how Meddler called this update as a "Second Preseason" And acted like throwing anther huge set of unorganized and rushed changes into the game would help fix things.
You know what I think of that statement? I believe it means that they're doing a second Preseason because the first one...
Failed!
Season Six had Failed to add anything positive to the game in terms of health and balance.
It has Failed to address the very problems it brought about.
Riot has Failed to keep their word regarding several big issues
Riot has Failed to impress many of us with the direction they're taking the game and more importantly.
They've Failed to acknowledge it properly.
So keep on saying you're doing a good job Red's keep patting yourselves on the back as you take one step forward to take two steps back as your game and it's old player base crumbles around you like the worthless towers you've given us.
