Urgot Can No Longer Use Sterak’s Gage

So Urgot is a top lane juggernaut (low mobility, reasonable tankiness, hefty damage output but limited accessible range) alongside Darius, Illaoi, Nasus, etc. The big difference between him and other juggernauts is he trades sustain (Darius Q heal, Illaoi Tentacle Slam heal, Nasus passive lifesteal, etc) for some range. While this range is large enough to give him an edge on other top lane melee characters, it’s pretty lackluster and short in comparison to other “ranged” champions.

Since Urgot is a Juggernaut whose kit would really benefit from Sterak’s Gage (one of the few items specifically designed for juggernauts) why is he being locked out of it even though he’s ‘technically’ a ranged champion?

They're going to balance him around being the only juggernaut that cant get steraks.

Just make him melee. Having access to Tiamat's waveclear would be a good buff since he sucks.

Yeah, basically this.

They are planning on buffing Urgot anyways. Even with Steraks he's always been considered pretty trash since his rework.

Ehhh he was never trash imo, nor stellar. The only thing I don't like is his q. Too slow

Well, yeah. That's kind of my point. Urgot has enough range to be considered ranged but it's pitiful in co,prison to actual ranged champions. He's also considered a juggernaut and is locked out of purchasing one of the only two juggernaut items because of his range which is a trade off for not having any kind of built in sustain. On a power budget, he's hypothetically in the same place as other juggernauts but can't access what (to many) is considered a core item of the class.

I think Urgot is busted... TBH when I played him for a few games I thought he was gonna get hotfixed to shit! His passive does so much damage, he's the only juggernaut with a dash, his ult is just a tilt machine, his Q being shit doesn't even matter.

I find this game difficult to grasp when every couple of months your favorite champion is completely different. There should be an option for playing the vanilla version of the game with only the original champions they way they originally were.
