while his ultimate is active, his piercing bolts proc on hit effects to each target hit. with a "grants on hit affects" his ultimate augments the bolts to also gain piercing and proc on hit effects as well.

with a 2 attack per second build, imagine all the on hit effect damage you could think of, now multiply that number x (number of targets)(number of targets because of piercing and overlapping) x (3) ((basic + ruunans)) x (total time/attack speed)

yes it is a very large number, i just want you all to be aware of this.

Just because it says these things doesn't mean it works this way. In practice Runnan's basically just gets turned off for the duration of Spray and Pray.

then you've never played twitch or your targets weren't close enough together, i can assure you, all the stacking mechanisms and on hit effects work.

Well if they changed this in the last two months or so then I could see it being the case. That's the last time I made Runnan's on him. I basically play suicide twitch where I stealth behind and blow my load on their five backsides. To me it always looked like Runnan's just disabled since they aren't really basic attacks anymore.

We're both about half right. Here's from the lolwiki:

"Runaan's Hurricane, attacking with Rat-Ta-Tat-Tat counts as a single auto-attack against a single targeted enemy, and as such will only launch one pair of ordinary single-target bolts to nearby enemies. However, the range bonus applies for all three bolts."

So it fires the Runnan's off of the first target hit, but they don't pierce.
