Convinced Akali's lansing phase(pre-6) makes her unplayable

After three games in a row of playing Akali mid being utterly denied cs, camped and/or killed with little to no minion agro toward my opponent to punish them for being so aggressive (I was against mages) I deem Akali unfit. Sure by all means if your lane opponent only farms you will be fine and punish them and their team but when you're either faced with csing or feeding the match becomes a 4v5 in the opponents favor. I understand I am level 26 and have little experience in this game compared to some but talk about "anti-fun experience". For example Diana, she survives pre-6 due to her double layered shield as well as a q that does more than tickle. Fizz has two gap closers and an e that literally puts the burden of outplay on his opponent. I could sit here all day and list each assassin's superiorities when it comes to comparison to Akali. I guess I am asking for help, because I love this champion, but currently I can't play her due to my inability to combat against harass that leaves me basing at level 2 (after burning through 4 pots).

The only thing that balances her 100% targeted damage kit, stupid sustain and ridiculous mobility is her terrible early game. She just needs a rework.

Akali is SO HOT2 votes

Akali is just one of those champions that you are not going to get a very high cs score early on in the game unless you are completely stomping your opponent. You just gotta accept the fact that you are going to miss out on a lot of cs. If you can time your Q right it's pretty good for farming at range which makes it a little easier to get some gold to get you going but 99% of the time if your opponent is smart then you are going to fall behind in cs.

If you want some help I have a guide out and I'm currently updating it for Season 6 if you want to check it out. I also have a youtube channel with some Akali vids on it if you want to check that out as well might be helpful.

If you are struggling this much before you turn 6 at the 7-8 minute mark, sorry to say this but akali is just not for you.

well it's easy to just arbitrarily comment I'm bad with her, but tell me how I combat constant auto attack harass and point and click abilities common on meta mages. how do i avoid getting dove with a full minion wave at my tower?

Bullshit comments like this don't help. If you had nothing helpful to tell him, then why comment at all.

Being new is the major problem there. The more experienced you are as a player, the better you're going to be able to predict and dodge harass from your enemy laner. The key to Akali is letting them shove the wave a little bit, farming with Q, and dodging harass until 6.

I used to main Akali(over 200k mastery points) and I realized that Akali is dependent on getting ahead. You must get some kills to have an impact on the game. Don't worry too much about getting cs. If you're playing mid, just try to farm as safely as possible until you hit level 6. After reaching level 6, try to kill your lane opponent. If you can't kill them within a couple minutes of reaching level 6, then you MUST roam. Try going bot lane to pick up a double or top if he's low on life and over extended. Akali is not really a minion farmer, she's a champion farmer. However, your roams MUST yield fruit. If you roam bot for example and fail to get any kills or even assists then you're screwed. You will fall behind way behind in gold and xp and in all likelihood never have an impact on the game. Sometimes though, even if your roam fails, a subsequent successful roam can get you back in the game but if you fail two roams its gg for you. You'll never catch up.

If you like Akali's playstyle of diving in and quickly killing opponents then I strongly recommend you buy Irelia. Irelia does what Akali does 10x better.

If Akali isn't trash tier, she's god tier. There's no in between. I'd rather her be trash.

Ok here, I just dusted her off and played her once again. Here is the replay. Though we lost this game, it perfectly demonstrated what I was saying before.

I went up against Annie mid lane and she harassed the hell out of me such that I really couldn't cs. She had a better cs score than me. I roamed after 6 and failed to make an impact and as I said would happen, I fell horribly behind. From there I kept dying. I was something like 0-5. Eventually, I picked up a kill and then another. I was able to complete a couple items and then I snowballed. I eventually got a penta and was ahead of everybody. We were even on the brink of turning a sure defeat into a victory. I was 34-11 by the end of the game. The only reason we lost is because we had a serious lack of vision and as such they were able to shut me down at key moments in the game by baiting me.

This is how Akali works. She is not a "stay in lane and farm all day" kind of champ. You must must get kills or at least get your allies kills.

Note too that this game is Bronze/Silver level and if I can do that at this level imagine what you can do at level 26. Akali is not even fair under level 30 since a lot of players at that level have a bad habit of over extending without a care in the world and this makes it very very easy for champions like Akali to get fed.
