I'm not calling her OP or just blindly bitching about a Lulu I lost to in ranked. (I haven't played vs a lulu in FOREVER)

But I'm genuinely curious as to why she hasn't been addressed at all yet, regardless of how. It's very clear people do not like playing versus her.... so should we do something about it?

Edit: I really need to stress that I'm not saying Lulu needs nerfs or that she's overpowered. This is because some people look at the title of a post and just downvote without commenting at all, which hinders from the discussion. Please, chime in your opinions!

To my knowledge, she's banned a ton because of her efficiency against the current flux of divers/easy-engage assassins. Her big shields and excellent ult, as well as a decent-length Polymorph, make her an absolute chore to play against for a good number of champs.

Personally, I don't think she's OP, rather just a strong pick in the current meta.

Lulu counters: Malzahar support - your pixy helps you kill his voidlings fast Zyra support - your pixy helps you kill plants fast melee supports - because she's ranged Vayne - because she has loooooooow range

This is as far as bot lane goes. Did anything change regarding this lately? just malza and zyra becoming top tier supports (very popular) One more thing did happen lately tho. Lethality got a small nerf, and now the current top AD champions are: Rengar Talon Khazix and they got just 1 gap closer, which lulu can negate Varus and Jayce also started to be played a lot less - and they both could've poke lulu's team down. So, them getting less poke out means lulu has a better time.

She can also protects one member from assassins like: Leblank, Ekko or Ahri, which are still quite popular. And she synergies well with AS adcs. AS adcs start getting more play due to Blade of the Ruined King buffs.

Lulu isn't OP or UP, she just became relevant due to meta changes and popular played champions. That's all. Its not Lulu's fault all stars aligned and the enemy is only playing comps she does very well against.

If anything, nerfing her will be a big mistake from riot's side, especially since the meta will, very soon, shift again with the upcoming reworks. If she is to be nerfed, if BotRK is to be nerfed, and so on. It would be a very sensible, responsible and good idea to wait for the meta shift to happen and then decide to nerf or not stuff. Why? coz if they nerf her now, and she'll be shit in the new meta, she will become obsolete and they won't even bother to keep a look on her.

she negates both Malzahar & Zyra supports, as her pix-empowerewd auto instakills both plants and voidlings.

she goes 3 points E to make laning super safe for her ADC, then maxes W for that sweet 2.5 second polymorph/ally buff

goes windspeaker and builds item 3190 / item 3107 , and her W buff scales well with item 3504 turning attack speed based ADC's into gods.

Not OP at all, but the stars have kinda aligned to make her ridiculously good.

Lulu counters stuff thats popular at the moment, all while working well with stuff that is popular at the moment.

She works well in supporting and stopping:

Yasuo Lucian Pantheon Renekton Caitlyn Jhin Ahri Darius (and others)

Those are nothing compared to some of her stronger synergy champs she can support:

Aatrox Gragas LeeSin Camille (and others)

Notice those are divers, she can hit them with her E for a shield and extra damage, W for move speed and atk speed for engage, then R to knock targets up and give them more health to rampage with as well as a melee range AoE slow. She is a diver force multiplier.

Also... divers are pretty strong at the moment, so a support that makes them stronger (also much safer) will of course seem really good.

Why ban Lulu? Well you cant ban all the champs she makes stronger, so ban the one that makes all of them stronger. This is also a smart ban if youre playing an assassin or diver... or marksman she can shutdown. It really sucks to have your Jhin ult canceled by being polymorphoed.

Speaking of shutting champs down:

Fizz Zed Velkoz Akali JarvanIV KogMaw MasterYi (and others)

Those guys get their shit stopped cold and can often die in counter reprisal from Lulus W, R lockdown, then shielding the assassin target with E, and slowing with Q.

But...

Consider that Janna, Taric, and Sona (especially Sona) all have higher win rates, and can do a lot of the same stuff... I think its mostly a combination of the sheeple effect and the META. "I hear Lulu is OP, I see her banned a lot, I better ban her... baaa." Even when she woudlnt be a cold shutdown to their champ, or the enemy composition isnt diver based, they ban based on fear and habit instead of reason and strategy. Of course some people are banning because Lulu could stop their assassination attempts or want to avoid empowered divers.

No, no, no, don't touch my Lulu!

I started playing her mostly because of her personality (no, not the part about her being constantly high on purple fairy dust), but simply because of her funny emotes and outright happy voice and demeanor.

That was she was fun to play and her kit suited my playstyle just perfectly was just a bonus - and the one thing I now specifically cherish.

Honestly she is in a favored meta. The current top picks all are hard countered by her. That and with the strength of those Locket and Redemption. She is just REALLY strong.

On top of that since shes meta, Kogs meta, which makes her MORE meta.

Personally i think she is ANNOYING AS HELL but once the meta shifts she'll drop again. Maybe with the next class update we'll get a Meta shift? Although it IS a small one.

Something else to consider is that she is frequently picked in conjunction with Kog'maw. The Lulu / Kog duo lane is pretty ridiculous and covers up Kog'maw's biggest weaknesses: Bad early game and his lack of mobility.

By banning Lulu you're basically removing Kog'maw from being picked.

So? It's not fun playing against Akali Annie Azir Fiora Fizz Gangplank Gnar Illaoi Ryze Renekton Singed Talon Yasuo Warwick Vladimir Zyra Zed either but that doesn't mean they deserve to be nerfed. Just because a champ isn't "fun to lane against" doesn't make them OP (see: Gnar Swain )

this entire season has been "XD HIGH DAMAGE MAGE WITH CC INSTEAD OF ACTUAL SUPPORTS" and now that an actual support has a place in the meta people cry for nerfs
