Where's Renekton?

I haven't played against one, or with one, since preseason 5. Seriously, half a year ago, people were arguing over the mystical Renekton meter, aka the fact that top lane champions were tested in terms of balance against Renekton: if they lost, they were okay: if they won, they were op. I mean, i know it's just bull made up but it was pretty funny to me.

My point being, where's Renekton? Never once saw him or even read a nerf. Did he get nerfed and i forgot about it? Can Nasus escape him forever? I just bought Renekton, because i think giant crocodile being of doom is a cool theme. I want to know why no one plays him. Is he out of meta? Is his "bad" late game really a worry? I don't know, man, i just want to know if others play him and if not, why?

Where's Renekton? Nasus can't escape him forever.

He just falls off too hard if he doesn't stomp lane, pretty much it.

They pushed him into being a lane aggressor only by changing his abilities to do better when hitting champs and worse when hitting just minions, so he can't handle a lot of the ranged tops as well as he used to.

A lot of it has to do with the Meta Shift. Ranged Tops getting popular, the rise of super tanky guys that kinda just ignore poke/harass, and the super hyper mobile champs like Hecarim/Shyvanna.

renekton main here making his fury bar drain faster was a very big nerf that makes you kind of useless later on when teamfights break through... renekton needs fury... at least 50 fury to start the fight... So you got 2 options. either maintain your fury to 50+ through minion waves (which was possible with the original drain rate and your Q generating 5 fury per minion up to 25, all you had to do was get close to melee minions Q once and get 15 fury back) or activate your ultimate just before or when the teamfight starts... it's crucial to have at least 50 fury to get your empowered stun off... Without fury you are useless.. i remember before the nerf i could easily keep my fury to around 80-90ish, now i struggle to keep it at 20-30
