depends on the player ... some indeed just leave you for a 4v5 and then find it weird thatthey cant do shit
but there are some good devourer junglers ... who will do whatever they can to get the most gold and stacks they can
they usually gank when opportunity arises ... still less than others but they do since its gold
but when they need stacks they go for dragon ... but first they kill the botlane to be sure they will get it
ovberall when you find such a guy ... you are out of options and the counterjungler is what could solve the problem
If you die to a gank from a devourer jungler in the early game, you over commited/pushed the lane without vision. Playing the game vs a gank jungler would just crush your lane.
Again, you just described that your bot lane gave a kill in a 4x5 game after 78 minutes ( that's the time that the devourer gets it). Kudos to your bot lane that lost the lane alone. In a good game you will get dragon early, before 78 minutes. Add up to that, ganking junglers generally have better mobility and can try to steal the dragon. IF a kayle steals the dragon by flashing into the dragons pit, your game was already lost since the begining.
The biggest weak point for a devourer jungler is their laners. If the laner got hard countered, you'll probably lose. IF the laners got carried away and got ganked by the jungler or dived because they got into bad trades or just couldn't let the laners crush the 1 st tower and in the processes gave them a kill AND a tower, you'll probably lose.
