Is Ignite a "single target" effect? Can the damage be reduced by Doran's shield?

True damage cant be reduced by anything.

The only thing that can stop ignites damage is Fiora Riposte when it is first applied, and Zhonya's stopping a few ticks of the damage.

Unless I'm mistaken, though: Fiora's riposte will block any tick of damage if timed correctly. It won't block ignite from being applied, however, because ignite is not a disable.

I think DoT, once applied, will continue to tick unless you're in stasis. Even if you become untargetable, the DoT usually keeps ticking.

even still, Riposte states that it blocks incoming damage. . .though this is true damage, so it can't be blocked? Then, other abilities that also cause true damage, won't be blocked by fiora's riposte, right?

You have it the wrong way around from your above post, riposte blocks the spell cast (of anything) it can't block individual DoT ticks. And yes true damage IS blocked, it's just most true damage is hard to time it with (ignite instant cast, olafs is instant cast, etc).

I don't know what happens if you block vayne's third shot, it probably wouldn't consume silver bolts and thus leave you back where you started.

Darius ult is probably pretty easy to block.

She can Riposte Vayne 3rd auto that would otherwise proc Silver Bolts and yes, it does no damage and resets auto counter.

Oh so it does reset the silver bolts counter to 0? Dang I didn't expect it to work like that but that's nice to know.

And for further clarification excepting bard, champion abilities similar to zhonyas will NOT stop the damage because they only make you untargetable NOT invulnerable as well. Though you still can't click on them to apply it in the first place until they come down from pole or out of pool or whatever ;). For reference, Bard ult counts as "stasis" which is untargetable+invulnerable same as zhonyas.

And since ignite has no animation the odds of getting riposted are well... Just don't use it at the same time as any ability with a wind up and you should be k, unless she's near death and predicts that you will use ignite in which case it's still a 50/50 crapshoot whether you get it off outside of riposte or not

True damage can't be amped or reduced by anything, except Ahri's Charm, which only increases her Q's true damage. Swain's E, poppy's ult, and Vlad's ult used to amp up ignite, but they took that away stating that true damage is supposed to be what the name suggests, true.
