Dawnbreaker Riven Skin Looks & Feels Really Clunky

I was so hyped for this new Riven skin, however it was extremely disappointing, and didn't feel like it was worth even 1350 RP let alone 1820 RP. The effects are pretty cool but it simply doesn't feel like I'm playing Riven when I'm using this skin. Riven's model looks bulky and weird with those flags hanging off her back, her auto attack animation doesn't feel clean at all, and the colors all blur together when you're trying to combo on someone.. meaning you really have to pay attention to the enemy's health bar to ensure you are actually auto attacking them between your Q's (and not canceling them while believing you landed them). I didn't believe it to be possible for a skin to feel worse than the Dragonblade one, however this newest skin officially surpassed it.

I'm sure a lot of hard work went into this skin, so it really pains me for being so hateful of it. As a long time Riven player who has put quite a bit of money into Riven skins over several accounts however, this was the first time I've ever felt so much dislike for a skin. I played roughly 5 games with it and just couldn't handle it anymore, I had to refund it.. this skin is just not for me at all. I'm positive that a better job can be done than this on a skin, this thing is just terrible feeling.

I strongly disagree. While the animations are indeed very different they do feel very smooth once you got a feeling for them. It is indeed very comparable to Dragonblade, you can't really switch from another skin to Dawn every other game, but once you got a few games on her it works perfectly fine (and MUCH better than Arcade with those shitty sounds).

When you Q auto Q, it's just one big clusterfuck of animations running into each other with no way to distinguish what you are actually doing. Her auto attack needs a better visual attached to it if they're going to leave all the animations like they are.

On Riven's other skins she has either

A.) A very simple model with lightly detailed animations or B.) A pretty huge sword (in the case of Arcade Riven)

Both of these two things make it a lot easier to tell when you've landed your auto attack.

With this new skin, she holds her sword really far back (behind her model? don't remember 100%) and it's really hard to notice your auto attack animation amidst all the other flashing blue that's occurring when you are combo'ing.

There's nothing smooth about it at all. Sure, the model (aside from the wings on the back) and animations look cool, can't complain.. but as for being smooth, no.. not even in the slightest.

Uh.. No. I certainly did not say that, I do like how the skin feels - the looks are rather meh, I hate visible boobs when female characters are supposed to have proper armor and I think her proportions are not quite right.

I disagree, I think both is fine and feels fine. Yes, the animations are different from the normal ones but they are not worse, once you got used to it they may even be better (although I need to get to that point yet, so far I do as well as I did when I was used to BB Riven).

And the second one is absolutely unnerving to me, it's probably a matter of taste.

I get that it may not be for your tastes, but it isn't objectively "unsmooth", in fact it has rather sharp particles.

You couldnt be any more wrong.

The skin is fluid and looks amazing, it is really fucking good, pretty much every riven main i know + like almost everyone at rivenmains loved the skin both in visual and gameplay.

Lol more like it's new and trending, and people tend to like new things regardless of how bad it really is.

Well honestly, it has some great animations / visuals. It's really a nice skin. When I saw the teaser for it and the show case, I was really hyped for this thing. It's not a bad skin at all, in fact visually it's probably the best skin out of all of the Riven skins.

Can you get used to it? Yes. You can get used to anything if you use it enough. However the fact that you have to get used to something in itself is enough proof that it is indeed a very not smooth skin. When you play with Battle Bunny Riven and then try this skin, Dragonblade Riven, or even Championship Riven you can feel the differences.

I own every riven skin and i can say the skin feels smoother than any of the riven skins, including base, i speak this out of experience.

She has new high quality animations, specially her Q ones look so ridiclously clean it makes it easy to fast combo, in fact this makes me want a VU for her classic/base (and redeemed skin) as they look kind of old.

Maybe you just dont like it and that is fine, but dont say the skin isnt good when a lot of effort was put into the skin, you should be glad riven got a high quality legendary skin.

I love using the dragonblade skin, and my friend loves the arcade skin. IK a lot of people dont like the arcade skin, but I'm convinced that if you play enough games on any of her skins you will get used to it, and will feel comfortable on it. Its not changing the champion mechanics... you just gotta get used to it
