6/1 PBE Update

So it wasn't okay for Karma to have skill rankings 6-6-6-1, but all of a sudden it's Jayce's mechanic. Lol.

the important part is: if karma only had one point in ult, her ult power early and lategame would be equal, and her ult is a vital part of her kit. this would mean her damage would be either OP early or UP late for it to be balanced in the other part. but this doesnt appply to jayce since he still gets his buffs at 6/11/16

I dislike these changes. If I'm not wrong they make w take even longer to scale well. Riot really fucking hates this skill.

Actually with these changes jayce faces the same problem as pre-relaunch Karma. Since all his abilities have six ranks, ranks 1 to 5 have to be weaker than before. That leads to a decrease in damage pre lvl 11.

@ FlyingGünther Karmas recharge-time on ult-stacks decreased on lvl 6/11/16 from 30 down to 18 if i remember correctly

Since this is the only jayce changes thread I see, i'll post my imaginary feedback here since it's a little hard to say how I feel without playing it a bit first but here goes: Jayce always felt a bit strong to me, slightly under nidalee strong, but strong. His W got nerfed before but didn't particularly fix the main problem with jayce, feast or famine as his feast largely was a result of his early game strength allowing him to get ahead, and then plow his lane opponent (almost like pre nerf riven where he can level 2 all in 99% of the time and get first blood and snowball from there). It did however remove a bit of the burst from his late game burst but he still had more than enough to kill any squishy. These current changes certainly address the feast problem, as his early game is now weaker, but in exchange for a bit more late game power. That said, his famine issue might be magnified now, as jayce is relatively easy to dive if he's behind and can't even quickly clear out a creep wave with his reduced early combo damage. I'll have to play with his W to see how it feels before I can comment on it. I like that its level 1 is buffed a bit as it stays there for a long time, but it does reduce any decision making whatsoever in leveling up jayce.
Jayce's new level up sequence is fixed in stone. Admittedly before it was already Q -> W -> ult -> E, with a few situations in which you level your ult at 6, 11, 16. Now there is no ult, and his W is definitely not worth leveling early (already wasn't after the last W nerf). I wonder if there's anything creative you can do with it, for example if you land all 3 shots of his hypercharge on the same target you refresh his ult first shot bonus at a lower% going up as you level W up.

To be fair, no one even bothered to rank up jayces hammer until 16-18 anyway because it served NO benefit to him to do it. I welcome these changes.

whatever. after 2 weeks theyre gonna remember how dumb his kit is when hes just remotely strong, and start the nerf streak again.
