PSA: You don't have to win your lane, just don't lose it

If you go 7/0 with 100 cs at 10 minutes, great. If you go 0/1 with 50 cs at 10 minutes, not so great, but at least you didn't set everybody else behind. If you go 0/6 with 25 cs at 10 minutes, then you are what is wrong with solo queue.

It's not hard to avoid death.

You don't have to win your lane, just don't lose it.

I always say that games are lost, not won. Whoever makes the most/biggest mistakes will lose. Most players always want kills and they view kills as a measurement of who's winning, but really it usually doesn't mean too much. Players can do surprisingly better by focusing on not making mistakes and farming, instead of focusing on kills.

Riven "I don't need armor I need damage"

And then blame the jungler and act like it's his fault.

I hear you, just played a game where i died once as support....and my adc and top combined for 0/20. How am i supposed to carry as support again?

ZylotheWolfbane3/10/2015, 4:03:32 AM8 votes

That moment when the enemy laner, who you have literally 1v1'd 3+ times already, tries to all-in you again... and you just ask one question: Why?

I call this top lane syndrome; let's be honest, it's usually top laners who do this. Bot lane may lose, but they'll start to play safe. and when mid loses laning phase is pretty much over. but top has the time and lack of common sense to keep fighting that losing battle over and over

1/1 Ah, minions op. I got him next time tho 1/2 He got lucky this time, but I bet he won't expect this tp! 1/3 Ok that was just bs 1/4 hey jung, if you're done derping around in bot lane, i need some help 1/5 wow panth, worst jung na 1/6 /all gg jungler sucks 2/6 finally, my comeback begins! 2/7 ff @ 20, irelia too fed

You know what's really annoying? When you dominate laning phase and the carries let the kills get to their heads.

Janna "Alright guys, Dragon is up in 30s. Let's move as a team and make sure wards and up and/or cleared. We got this. We just - "

Vayne "YEAAAAAAAAHHHHH LET'S GO MUDDAFLIPPERSSSS!"

Janna -pings "Be Careful / Fall Back!" like a wild woman-

Vayne "10/0/5 Bitches! I can solo their whole team, BRING IT ONNNNN!!!"

Vayne HAS BEEN SLAIN.

MonkeyKing Ahri Annie Fiora Corki HAVE SLAIN THE DRAGON.

Vayne "Noob support, no wards."

what do you call an 0/9 jax who kept expecting to be able to 1v1 panth even tho he was too far behind

my last ranked game

Kappa

Also good to note.

If you are 6/6 at the end of laning phase. that is actually WORSE than if you are 0/0, and maybe even 0/1.

Because now, the laning phase is over. Nobody but u got 6 kills. and the enemy u just laned against is stronger than the rest of ur team, and will most likely get fed kills, and grow into a bigger problem.

Civil communication really is the key. You must realize that 99.99% (or more) of modern video games are pure festivals of offense. We traded game design for wish fulfillment back in the ps1 era, and have since trained a generation and a half of gamers to think of themselves as the omnipotent badass, not the scrappy underdog. Aside from the hardcore Monster Hunter players (who barely exist in English speaking countries sob of loneliness), virtually no one in the current video game scene shows up to LoL wired for "defend first, attack second".

Unless you're against Nasus. If you go into a passive farm lane with him, your CS doesn't matter.

Quickzilverz3/10/2015, 4:00:48 PM3 votes

It is all in the mindset and knowledge... it goes deeper than this. I get aggravated when people get counter picked but still continue to attempt trades with their opponent.. fall behind.. in CS and maybe even KDA and STILL Continue to trade thinking the outcome will change. Once they are 0/3+ "I didn't get any ganks" Blah blah blah blah...

SephAgro3/10/2015, 3:36:22 AM2 votes

It sucks that if you die once in your lane, you are probably destined to an entire phase of passive farming. Snowballing right now is just too op.

Talamare3/10/2015, 12:05:29 PM2 votes

I rather see 0/0 with 0 Farm Champion than 0/10 with some farm

Don't even go for Farm if you feel you will die, just get the exp... Wait for Mid game when everyone groups!

Especially if you chose a CC heavy champion

As much as I would like to agree with you, I can't help but think back to one of the games I had during my pre-30 days where I was botlane Ryze with Galio (this was season 2 where we had Ashe mid) vs Blitzcrank and Twitch.

Galio afked after 30 seconds. Blitz could pull me out from tower. Twitch would burst me down. If blitz missed his hook I would be safe, for 20 seconds. Unfortunately he would only miss when I burned flash.

Only way I could continue without dying was staying out of minion exp range, but this of course would just mean I'd die more later on.

I love when I'm like a fiora vs darius top and people flame at me and scream "FIORA GOES LONGSWORD NOT CLOTH ARMOR DIPSHIT YOUVE GOT NO DAMAGE" i just laugh at them when I'm the only one on the team who wins lane

TaNKeD3/10/2015, 4:32:09 PM2 votes

If you die within the first 10 minutes of the game ***you ***did something wrong.

Athenes Lulu3/10/2015, 3:12:23 AM2 votes

Especially when you are forced into a role where you're not too familiar with.

Hyrum Graff3/10/2015, 8:55:50 AM2 votes

This is why my second piece of advice for getting out of "elo hell" (after, pick a champ and main it) is "don't die." No matter how your team is feeding, go for the fewest deaths possible. It's amazing how big of a difference it makes.

Jeddy0173/10/2015, 7:15:37 PM2 votes

On the opposite side, just because you win lane,it doesn't mean you win the game.

Kal Vas Flam3/10/2015, 5:45:35 PM1 votes

I win top lane every game. Literally every game. I win in CS, in kills, and the enemy's tower always goes down while mine is at least 50%+. I do this with Sion though, and I'm thinking maybe his late game presence is too weak or something. Or maybe I just don't play late game as well as I do the laning phase. I win my lane 100% but only have like a 40% win rate in my top lane games. Something is wrong there.
