Should I quit ranked?

Hey guys!

I have been trying too hard to escape bronze. I don't have any friends who play league so I solo queue everytime. I play support because I enjoy playing them. Without me, the team has no survivability. When I play Sona, I have the ability to literally wipe the enemy team out with my ult. As a Soraka, my team's HP will always be in my hands. As a Janna, as soon as the enemy is about to kill my ADC, I can save them and when they dive I can easily repel them. I try my best each and every game. There many instances where I get completely outplayed by the enemy player and it is bound to happen, as I am still learning. But I always try my best. My most played champs are Janna and Sona.

But now I am starting to become exhausted. People very, very rarely communicate in bronze either with pings or words. I would accept toxicity (to some extent). As it would mean that the person is at least trying to win. Playing support has taught me map awareness to a large extent. I place wards and try to predict wherever the enemy might be. However, I feel I have no impact in games time to time. I am at the mercy of the ADC. If he can't do anything then neither can I.

I just do not know what to do. I played ranked so that I can test my skills and improve on them. But no matter what I try to do, defeat after defeat. Its just too much

give up on ranked (for now) and go back to bots/normals until you master your basics, like every bronze person should have done before hitting 30 and jumping into ranked.

these things matter which bronze players gave no consideration too. (if you had you would at least be in silver)

  1. rune page

  2. champion pool, what if your 1 and only champion gets banned?

  3. lacking champion experience, no point in picking a strong counterpick if you have no idea what abilities to rank first or the situations in which you are stronger than they are.

  4. pre game team comp, do not go into a game saying "this is the champ im playing now no matter what" you aren't challenger, you cant force your way and make it work.

  5. identify win condition, even if its hope and pray that XXXXX stuns the vayne because you cant. at least make sure XXXXX understands thats how the game ends with you winning. usually its group as 5 and take a baron. other times its abuse your 25kill lead and group as 5 walking down mid lane together.

  6. learn how to group up, or corral 4 others to your side.

  7. learn to last hit, you should be aiming for 80cs every 10minutes. if you cant reach these numbers practice in a custom room with no1 in it until you learn to just auto attack and kill the minion for the gold. (you can get more, but any less are you're just throwing away gold) after this practice with an enemy bot.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

if you cant do this much yet.... fix these things then try ranked, i guarantee results. you would be amazed at how many gold players cant even do this, and the only thing that carries them up as high as they go is their champion mechanics only, and they hope 4 others play around them.

speaking from experience, im much better than those around me currently but i'm losing game after game because... team refuses to accept the win condition and the enemy team just groups up properly. i'll say baron and my team will stay in lane at 40minutes trying to freeze farm with no vision on the bot side of the map while the enemy team takes baron.

team cant group, may as well just FF. unless ofc you're huge.

learn thresh, play him in normals until around summer so you have decent experience on the champ then jump back in with a changed mentality and hopefully you will climb to gold

I was placed In Bronze 3 last season and took me a little while to climb out, it will be tedious and not easy to climb out of Bronze as people in that elo don't have much experience or knowledge. But once I got to Silver I climbed out relatively fast. I peaked at G3 this season and will continue to play avildly on climb.

Support is one of the most impactful role of done right if you need any tips feel free to hit me up.

Hmm, do you maybe want to play together sometime? not proper ranked since I only do that solo, but in flex or norms so I can see if there is anything you are doing wrong that you could improve on. Feel free to add me if you want, at face value, I don't think you should really quit ranked, but I may be able to help you climb if you want a bit of coaching.

Do what I did when I was stuck in bronze. Stop playing ranked and play normals. I played normals for like a year then started playing again

just play normals and focus on improving
