Look, I acually prefer solo lane Morde than botlane Morde. Run 2 movespeed quints Ad reds, AP blues, 1AP quint(or an Ad quint and MR blues, your choice), go 27/0/3.
It works for me. Standard start is Amp Tome and health pot. Null Magic against Ap. Play safe early, use e for cs tool, LEARN TO TIME SOLO W HEAL DAMAGE(try to heal off of minions and the champ in lane), shield, than back off. Play safe pre six. Ward if you are at or past river.
Run either ghost and flash, or TP and ghost. I like ghost on Morde for sticking and escapes.

Just try it and practice. Once you get it down you start to appreciate how it works. The solo reactivate w keeps you from pushing to hard when you dont want to, as ganks are bad for Morde with his abysmall base stats. I use solo w for heal and cs tool. Lower minions with w and time heal on enemies when they come to poke, than shield on minions and champ before they escape. That heal is awsome when you learn to land it. Btw, boots second back is needed to stick with your w. Deadmans, Lichbane, Alactriy Swiftness, Liandrys, and Rylias(rush this iem than boots and liandrys),itll give you a slow and the speed you need. Get Nashors Tooth later for fast ass q's. If you get to this point, you're pretty strong. He's just weak early, so play safe early.
You'll end up getting multiple cs's gain a nice heal, and shield, letting you play safe. If you are aggresive early you WILL die. Wait till six when uou have the second heal.
I practiced solo Morde in bots and some normals, and now I know how to solo Morde even 2 vs 1.

He is still numero Uno, just figure out how to play him. Safe early, aggressive late. Watch your cooldowns.
