Question about ranked 'advancement'

I am not new to League of Legends, but I am very new to the Ranked system.

This is actually not about advancing, so much as the lack of.

I saw a post that mentioned how people should demote when they have 0 LP.

I guess my question is, having been placed in Silver IV after my 10 pre-ranked matches, will it be impossible for me to drop to Silver V or lower this season?

Not that it matters in relation to my question, but I don't ask because I am consistently losing. I only have about +15 LP, which is definitely not great, but I am maining support right now, and it is a little hard to carry as a support. I have heard that lower ELO you should really be playing roles/champions with the intention of being able to solo carry matches in order to climb. I honestly could be doing that, and would most likely be much more successful.

A brief glimpse into my background is that I have LOTS of experience with bot games, and am a firm believer in being an all-rounder. I currently own all but 10 of the available champions, and can play a large majority of them with a decent level of skill, which means I have a good knowledge of matchups, strengths and weaknesses. I have only honestly begun getting into PVP late this season, and got into Ranked over the last month, just to see where I placed initially, and to begin learning the vast differences between bot matches, and PVP. I felt as though support would be a good role to start with in order to begin, but I should probably start branching out.

If your MMR (match making rating) drops super low (2 tiers below your tier. So gold will drop to Silver if u are at gold 5 0 LP and losing to bronze. Not sure how this is with silver as there is nothing below bronze but.

To answer your other question, because the game allows you to pick two roles, and get those roles unless you are in diamond +, I would focus on maining two roles and picking out several champions for each that suit your playstyle. Become really good with that pool of around 5 - 6 champions. If you want, you can focus on 1 or 2 champions and just play them to gain elo but you should have backups in case it is banned or picked on enemy team so a pool of 5 - 6. Personally, for me, I have 4 mids and 3 junglers and that is what I play. If I decide to mix in top, I have 3 top champions which combined leaves me with a pool of 7 total champions as a couple can go multiple lanes. But don't focus on playing every role, you will become ok at them all but master none of them.

I appreciate your response to both portions of my post.

I usually cue up for support fill, but that of course means I always get support. I'm pretty sure if I were to pick just about any other role and support, there is still a pretty good chance I will get support then as well.

I would say that I can play ADC fairly well, but I believe that is the most desired role. Top would probably be my next preference. Then Mid. I honestly feel like I would be good at mid, but it almost feels like a more daunting position than ADC. At least ADC, you have a support to help keep you safe. Lastly, there is Jungle. Being so new to PVP, I honestly think I should probably hold off on the jungle. The fact that I am so unfamiliar with roaming/invading behavior really makes me feel like I would most likely end up getting shut down, and/or let my team down. I've actually learned a lot about vision control from being a support already, but I think I need more work.

As far as champion pool goes. I have been maining Karma. She has decent base damage and provides good utility to the team. However, as I mentioned, it is difficult to carry AS Karma. I can help teammates to carry when they have a better idea of what they are doing, but when they don't I look like garbage as well.

I don't mean to sound like I believe I am much better than my team either. I am still very humble and hesitant about my own skill, which I see even that as a weakness. I would actually say I have a much stronger level of game knowledge than mechanical skill. As I said earlier, I know match ups pretty well. For example, I really try to get communication going in champion draft. I like to know who my ADC is so I can try to match them with a good support to suit them. One match my ADC first picked Jhin. Instead of Karma, I switched to Morgana because she is a good match. ... I have played Morgana to understand her kit fairly well, but my lack of confidence lead to missed bindings (oh so many Q.Q) and missed ideal times to Black Shield Jhin or myself. So on paper, we should have won, I know that, but I also understand that we lost because of my own lack of skill.

Dont worry about roles. Last season, this would matter. This season, its not your skill that decides the outcome of the match. The matchmaker decides the outcome, as LoL (League of Lottery) will be happy to place plats vs silvers. DynamicQ has made premades able to boost people that dosent belong in gold plat, and higher skilled are pushed downwards cause of this.

In other words, the game you are a about to begin, can have a severly huge difference in total skill, and thus your role have less to say.

Still, my role does make a difference if I am able to play a more impactful role with more skill than the person who is playing it otherwise. If I am skilled, or able to become skilled enough to deserve to play at a higher ELO our chances of winning that match are significantly greater if my skill is able to influence the game more than I would as a support.

My logic from the start was that a skilled ADC with a shit support is better than a shit ADC with a skilled support.

The thing that I have to figure out is, which one of those two combinations am I more suited for.
