An Item Alternative for Conqueror? Item idea

I've been seeing a whole lot of top laners taking Conqueror, and I'm seeing the true damage come up on all of my death summaries. It's like a must-have for taking on tanks, and can shred through a few other champs.

Rather than a rune be the new meta for AD melee champs, why not have it be an item? Here is an idea:

The Mighty Conqueror

item 1038 (1300) + item 3133 (1100) + 1000 Gold https://i.imgur.com/8kePlRp.png Total 3400 Gold

+65 Attack Damage +10% Cooldown Reduction

UNIQUE Active: For 4 seconds, convert 20% of damage dealt to champions as true damage (12% for ranged champions) (70 second cooldown). Basic attacks lower this item's cooldown by 1 second on hit (0.5 seconds for ranged champions).

The Mighty Conqueror (old version)

item 3123 (800) + item 1037 (875) + 925 Gold https://i.imgur.com/8kePlRp.png Total 2600 Gold

+50 Attack Damage

UNIQUE Passive: Converts 5% of damage dealt to champions as true damage. This bonus raises by an additional 1% for every second in combat with champions (10% maximum). The true damage is only 60% effective for ranged champions. UNIQUE Passive - Executioner: Physical damage inflicts Grievous Wounds on enemy champions for 3 seconds.

Thoughts? :)

I like the concept of the active a lot more since it has some restraints. Maybe you could make it a stacking "Energized" type passive instead? E.g. Basic attacks provide "Domination" stacks, at 100 stacks --> Your next basic attack triggers "Conquerer" for 4 seconds (insert % values here). Each basic attack is 5 stacks for ranged or 10stacks melee.

The only other thing I see with this is the cost, while I know 3k+ gold bruiser itemization is a meme this is pretty cheap and should probably be 2900 at minimum for what it does. A lot of champions would get monstrous use out of it for that cost.

I get what you mean. item 2015 builds off of attack speed, though, so it would be a little different. Unless you're thinking of something that stacks on its own. Although, making it a bonus you get from Energize doesn't make it reliable. The active gives it to you when you need it most, and the original passive works like Liandry's but for AD champs.

The Mighty Conqueror

item 3133 (1100) + item 2015 (800) + Pickaxe (875) + 625 Gold Total 3400 Gold

+50 Attack Damage +15% Attack Speed +10% Cooldown Reduction

Passive: Moving and attacking will make an attack Energized.

UNIQUE Passive - Conquer: Your Energized attacks grant you Conquer for 3 seconds, converting 20% of damage dealt to champions as true damage (12% for ranged champions).

I didn't upgrade any stats, but 15% seems kinda small for a top tier item. Maybe bring it up to 20% attack speed? Also, I removed the energized damage, since item 3094 and item 3087 already provide that.

Hmm the problem with actually making it "energized" is that adcs can abuse the heck out of it with RFC! since it makes it stack much faster and you'll have additional range on your Conq proc. Combined with Glacial Augment or Frozen Mallet and that puts you in range for your full combo, now Conquerer approved lol

I just updated the post for a new version:

item 1038 (1300) + item 3133 (1100) + 1000 Gold Total 3400 Gold

+65 Attack Damage +10% Cooldown Reduction

UNIQUE Active: For 4 seconds, convert 20% of damage dealt to champions as true damage (12% for ranged champions) (60 second cooldown). Basic attacks lower this item's cooldown by 1 second on hit (0.5 seconds for ranged champions).

Kept it simple. The cost could be raised if you think the active is too cheap for 600 gold.

Better! but since you're giving the passive a scaling cooldown maybe up it to like 75, at an average rate you would have it ready once every 45 seconds give or take, so that's really not bad when death timers end up longer.

I could make it 70, just so it's an even number. :)

Would scale to around 1 proc every 30-40s which I think is pretty good for late game (early game, let's say first item, 1.0ish as, will average about 1 proc every 50-55s, maybe sooner if you're still laning)

B.F. Sword feels really bad to have in the build path of something meant for laning (a big point of Conqueror is helping bruisers in lane versus tanks).

Also, the item itself is really underwhelming compared to Black Cleaver, and if you build Cleaver first, then you'd be getting this item too late for the Conqueror effect to help you in lane.

Also, with no ramp-up time, you run the risk of moderately fed bruisers becoming tanky assassins.
