How do i play against people in my own division / at my own skill level?

I'm getting tired of being curb stomped because the skill level on both team vary wildly. I usually have to play against people a division or two above me (I'm silver so there's usually a gold/platinum on their team that seems to always be laning against me) and before you go "Well it really counts your mmr not your division" i have a 35% winrate and I have yet to see a fair set of teams loaded up. I just want to have silver on my team, silvers on their. Or if not people my division at least people my skill level so it doesn't feel like I'm fighting the matchmaking system rather than the other players.

My issue isn't the variety of people you get, but how the teams are formed. For example it can be a team of 5 bronze players against a team of 5 silver players, And then the game ends at 24:00 with the score 6-24. It's like they set one team up to fail from the start

What annoys me is when the mmr is technically even, but its varied.

2 silver + 2 gold +1 platinum is not equal to 5 gold. Stuff like that. But yeah i've also gotten games where its 4 silver vs 4 gold and a plat. Getting set up for failure is pretty whack.

I don't even look at the enemy team's rank average, I just play. The goal shouldn't be solely to climb, it should be to get better at the game (which will consequently allow you to climb)

I usually look up the mmr after the game ends just to see how even the teams were. Fun games end up having more even teams, whereas games where I get stomped have us laning against higher level players. Its not a good experienced and diminishes a lot of value from the game.

It might be because I mostly play solo queue and so they just throw me in whatever game they can so the mmr even out. It feels pretty shitty because the matchmaking system throws me into a game where I'm bound to do bad, and because my team mates are most likely queued up together they're gonna flame me. Matchmaking system sets up a toxic environment imo.
