The Nexus fight in Nexus Blitz is EXTREMELY unfair

TrikzterzArma··5 votes·3,042 views

So we just had a game where my team won all 4 events, and were pushing to win. That's when the event where you have to kill eachothers nexus' came. The enemy team aced us, and won the game.

How is that fair? Shit like this makes me want to stop play the new mode.

If the enemy team can survive long enough after you've won all four events and the game gets to nexus rush they deserve to win

No they don't. Right now you're saying that the worse team is supposed to win "just because". This event single handedly could kill the entire mode because of the nature of favoring the losing side.

How does it favor the losing side? It gives them a chance to come back, but if your team is far ahead anyway then you should win the fight

The Nexus acts like the Rift Herald, aka it's gonna be way closer to the losing side due to minions waves probably clashing way closer to the losing side as well. On top of that: That's not a fucking comeback chance, that's a win condition! No matter how hard you suck the previous events just hold out until the walking nexus appears and you pretty much autowin.

So? If you win all the events and cant end, you dont deserve the win nor were you "winning all game".

So the enemy wins 1 event and thus the game because the event in itself is inherently broken. Yea they totally deserved to win that... NOT.

They did. Nothing matters until the nexus dies. They killed the nexus, ergo they desserved it. You fucked up. You played poorly.

Yea, we played poorly for not being able to finish against a high waveclear team. That's fair. At least in your twisted opinion.

You won all the events, unless you got mega ocean 4 times you could literally face tank the towers with bf shield or GA. Even beyond that, death timers at like event 3 are high enough that you winning the event means you have more champs up than they do for like 40s.

So yes, its entirely on you. They outplayed you. You let them stall.

It sounds like you were given 4 win conditions in the form of bonuses.

4 opportunities with those bonuses to close out the game and you didnt.

They got 1 opportunity. 1 win condition. And they closed on it.

You got outplayed.

You are right though. It wasnt fair but despite the odds their team still came from behind and won.

Yea, we got outplayed by the system, not by the enemy. Which makes it a bad event.

/thread End of story. If the mode ain't fair it should fail. Remove the event or cancel the mode. Easy as that.

Or get good. But that takes effort and realizing you fucked up, not a game mode.

I personally think the heart of the game mode isn't something you enjoy.

Nexus Blitz is a fast-paced (~15 minutes) experimental mode designed for those of you seeking fresh ways to play League and low-pressure fun. It emphasizes exciting and surprising moments over intense competition, while still rewarding the skills you've learned from other League modes, like Summoner’s Rift.

In any case, I don't think the event is all that unfair. The only tweak I would make towards it would be to allow the Nexus to ignore unit collision so that teams can't purposely trap it. Gold leads are a thing in Nexus Blitz, unlike Ascension, so if the Nexus ignored everything and just went to a boxing match in the middle, the losing team would hardly even have a puncher's chance at that point (especially under the context that the OP presented).

If the game was more even, both Nexus would meet towards the center of the map anyways. In any case, just like in Summoner's Rift, one bad team fight late game is a death sentence.

You want a whole game mode destroyed because you couldnt close out a match?

It's fair because even though the team was against an opponent who got all the bonuses, they did not lose to that, and they then aced the opposition and won. It's fair because they completed the requirements to win according to how the game is conducted and the other team did not.

You won all the events yet waited for the blitz event instead of just ebding the game? Thats on you. You arent ahead if thats your metric.

I got 8 towers in a sr game, the opponents got baron, aced us and won...

like you would say. "How is this fair! we were winning all the game until we didnt wint!"

That's not the same thing at all lol

The issue is, the sudden death walking nexus's far, far favor the losing side. If things are pushed to their side, the 'winning' team needs to all dive way into their base to have a chance to win. The losing side basically doesn't need to move from under their towers. If the losing team is pushed in, the winning team's nexus literally walks into their towers. There's nothing skillful about that. Even if the 'winning side' wins all events, the argument that the losing team deserves to win because they 'lasted long enough' is really silly and stupid. In normal, balananced SR games (well at least compared to this mode), the losing team needs to actually come ahead of the winning team. A losing team shouldn't instantly win because they lasted long enough. All they need to do is camp under towers. Nothing about that means they deserved to win. In normal games, even with an advantage the winning team needs to find opportunities to make plays and close out the game. Competitive games can last over an hour easily because of this, and the vast majority of games end with less than around like, 20 kills on either side. NB on the other hand literally says, 'if you can't find an opportunity to win in this next minute you instantly lose, your nexus will walk into their base.'
