What happens when they nerf a champion I play

I usually don't notice tbh. The worst I have ever had was having to alter a clear or use a different mastery. With exceptions for the extremes(Azir on one side Ashe when she was OP on the other side) I actually hardly ever notice champion stat buffs or nerfs that don't directly alter a mechanic or combo. Like I noticed Shyvana but that was a mini rework, that changed two massive mechanics, immensely buffing her E and R.

Am I just that bad? Is it only me feeling that the drama over minor buffs and nerfs to champions is overhyped? Because I only have a problem with champions who are clearly over the line either direction, or who on a mechanical kit level are just bad or annoying designs. But I see posts on the boards every single day that are like: "OMG you took THRHEEHHEREEE WHOLE DAAMAGE off my W FFFFFFFFFuuuuu rito!"

Like I understand complaining if Riot is nerfing an already clearly weak meta championMordekaiser Or if they buffed an already strong meta championHecarim

But this exploding on the boards every time they tune a scaling by 1% has got to stop. It is drowning out meaningful discussions about champion kit design and relevant problems with the meta or game design.

some changes you only notice directly when you main that champion hard.

as Zed main i really feel the Q damage nerf early game.

but thing is that stat nerfs are more nerfs that you don't directly see, but they are still impactful. suddendly that champ starts to lose trades/all-ins he would have won before the nerf.

so stat nerfs don't really change the feeling of a champion, but they are still there.

As someone who plays quite a bit of Kog'Maw the E changes removing 20% of his AP scaling and base damage on E was a pretty hard nerf requiring another item before you can continue to go to your old spike. While his waveclear is about the same it is still a pretty heavy nerf.

On the flipside the bonus 1% on Kog'Maws W was a pretty great buff and while something like that seems pretty small if you've played AD Kog'Maw before you will of noticed a difference.
