The last ranked game I played, I was doing pretty well until Garen did his usual thing where he becomes unkillable, which allowed for the enemy team to beat us after my ADC and I had a great laning phase. I don't really play top so I suppose all I could do in that instance is hope that my top laner doesn't feed, but when it comes to teamfights, what can be a good support pick to stop something like Garen?

but in reality, its 100% a legit answer. if you cant peel or kite a garen with one of those supports, then youre doing something seriously wrong. like monumentally wrong.
at the very least in lulus and jannas case its literally just the press of a button.

that can shred him. Combine that with 
who can easily kite and shred him. All you have to do is delay his one source of engage which is a movement speed increase from Q for a short duration and you can literally pick any support with cc or a slow and counteract his engage and hard punish him in a team fight. There is no reason for anyone to be complaining about garen right now.

you need to have some way of inputting commands into the game. preferably a keyboard. you might have some troubles if youre an amputee.

at least post your match history, so we can see what might have went wrong. first intuition would be that your adc didnt build armor pen despite getting ahead, and the garen stacked a decent amount of armor and his w, if you didnt do damage to him.
if this is the case, scream at him for pulling his builds off mobafire instead of adapting it to the current game.

I'm in Bronze 1 and I was Nami, so by one button, do you mean just bubble him? I guess I could, but that'd require me to hit it every time (which I can't hit it literally every time, but I think I do it well enough anyways). Is it just a matter of stuff like poor game knowledge and map awareness?

honestly, the jinx can just do it on her own if shes not stupid. a w from short range for the slow, into traps is easy on a target like garen.
