Kat mains: Playing her effectively against teams build around countering you?

Tons of silences, targeted crowd control (or just really reliable), and very tanky comps.

I'm fed with her and play my lanes well (for the most part) but there are times where no matter how strong I am, the enemies composition renders me helpless almost instantly. I've learned damn near every (meta) matchup as her and I dominate my lanes generally. But carrying with her doesn't always seem possible? Don't get me wrong I'm not saying I'm a pro with her, but

I've found that when playing her against tanky comps my best bet is to ult as safely as possible without getting into the middle of the team (tanks). With reliable hard cc teams im generally at a loss and cannot teamfight effectively or let alone do my job as an assassin.

the way I see it with kat especially with those tanky or cc heavy team comps, is you need to wait for your team to do the engaging. Wait until basically everyone on the enemy team has blown their abilities (usually within 2-3 seconds of the fight starting) and then jump in and clean up the fight / get the carries if they aren't dead yet.

Power farm, try and catch people alone, I'm not a Kat main but I'm a Yi main, we both blow up with the slightest cc

Man... Bout all you can do is watch for them to blow their cc abilities and go for it. I'm no pro Kat, but I am lvl 7 and it sucks even for me once it comes to this. You kinda just gotta suprise them with it, do NOT engage with your ult, you let your team engage, or else you WILL take every bit of that CC because everyone knows they can sit on a kat pretty ezpz.

Just keep in mind that every time the enemy sees you, they wonder if you have your ult and are ready to cc it. Just getting back to the point of let your team take the cc first

Kata is more hurt by tanky comp than most. Someone said yi is in the same boat, but I disagree, yi has tools that are good vs. tanks if built/played right, to might greater degree than kata. Having said that, she's far from useless vs. tanky comp still. You can wait for a cleanup opportunity, do not engage first. Or try to assassinate their squish IF possible -- even a tanky team usually has squish mid and adc (and if they don't, they lose for other reasons), though against a team with good teamwork it might not be possible.. then focus on cleanup.

Patience. Wait for the enemy team to blow their CCs and then jump on the backline. It also helps if Kat has a team that is built around her.

Try your best to wait for them to blow their cc, only go in when you know you'll get a reset, banshees also helps a ton Some games just aren't winnable unless the enemy fucks up but some of these things might help

build AD Katarina, cant go wrong with all her a resets if they build around AP Katarina and draintank them to death.
