Crying about a champion Isn't going to get you anywhere. I'm a master riven main and If you're smart you can beat riven. QQing about a champion wont make you better at the game. Logged in just to downvote. "If you're smart you can beat Riven." Isn't it just about that way for every champion in the game? Being smart and outplaying them? Still doesn't mean Riven's kit isn't bullshit in every way.

Also, "master riven main". Exactly. Only Riven mains defend her.

Worse than that is when confronted with viable options to counter the fotm (not just Riven), some of them, but not all, very important distinction, dismiss it wholesale and proceed to make even more hyperbolic claims about how the counter doesn't work.

Usually, if a counter doesn't work, Riot nerfed it and should probably buff it again instead of relying on a cycle of nerfs. The cycle of nerfs only leads to people calling for more nerfs after a round of nerfs because champions that were once kept in check no longer are. The worst part is that they call for nerfs because they know the nerf cycle will eventually reach the target they're complaining about, because the cycle is blind, as is any other wheel, and can only be led by a master of the wheel, some of whom are blind themselves.

Or Shen, or Zac, or Cho. You can pick a tank into Riven and stack armor and laugh in her face since she's technically a caster. It's when you pick a squishy into Riven does it get stupidly hard to fight her

Even some squishies are perfectly able to fight Riven. Tryndamere can kill Riven as early as level 2 fairly reliably, is very hard for her to fight once he reaches level 6, and outscales her dramatically. Fiora counters Riven, and I anticipate this will be the case after the rework as well (riposte the knockup and profit). Lissandra makes Riven cry tears of bear semen. Jayce is a douche who pokes Riven down forever. Teemo can beat Riven pretty handily. Wukong gets fairly tanky even if you build him as a carry, but he starts off squishy and tends to win games against Riven, if not lane.

Shen and Cho are good against Riven though, yeah. Zac idk, never see that dude top lane.

Fair enough. I didn't think of Yorick or Swain who start out relatively squishy and can fight her. Zac can go top fairly well, since his Q has a good range and pretty reliable early game damage

Because it's so hard to stun Riven and shut her down. So many champions can hard counter and render her useless. Just about every champion can stomp if the player has skills.. Especially in low elo. Katarina also can be a beast, if people don't know how to save a stun for her. Naut, Blitz, Nid.......
