What's with all the Irelia E hate?

I'm an Irelia main, so perhaps what I'm going to say is really bias, but hear me out.

Why do people complain about the fact that Irelia's E "Punishes you for winning a trade"?

There are champions out there who can stun you regardless of other circumstances. Taric, Udyr, ect.

If they flipped it around so she can only stun you when she's winning the trade (she has more HP than you) It would just let her snow ball trades, and she might as well just have it be an unconditional stun anyway (Since slowing an Enemy when you're losing the trade is pretty pointless)

As it is now, her E gives her the opportunity to turn a fight that she's losing, and stick to fleeing enemies if she's winning.

If it got flipped, it would just let her dominate a trade she's already winning (And make it much harder for you to escape if you're losing) while being rather ineffective as far as CC goes if she herself is losing the trade.

Irelia is my main and strongest top lane champ. I really don't get all the hate either. Using her E correctly is not as easy as it looks. Took me a while to get the hang of it. Fed my ass off before that. You can't trade with all caution thrown to the wind like you could with brainless champs like Garen and Darius. You actually have to think when using Irelia.

Because they dont last 2s at max rank and/ or arent point and click. Of course flipping it would make no sense tho since she could just qe everyone to death lol.

I dont really hate it that much but the onlythings i find annoying about it is the duration combijned with the W sustain she gets. Also at 6 and when she has a tri or guinsoo i find it worse because shes if i go in for a trade shes stunning me then chunking so much health so imnot ableto doanything without any ranged poke just to poke her down. Probably why im not reallygood with melee champions lol and why im not so good at top XD

if irelia is 2499/2500 HP, and enemy is 900/900, she'll stun right?

so she TP to lane, take a minion hit, proceed to delete full HP enemy laner, yes?

If irelia is 2500/2500, and enemy is 900/900, she will stun.

Because it feels like it punishes you for doing well. Basically laning against Irelia feels: Get ahead > get stunned > fall behind or fall behind > stay behind >feed

that and the fact she seems to be/is able to stun when you're both at 100%. For a semi-squishy champ this means she can stun & delete you if you dare get in her range/dmg her once she gets rageblade.

of the ones you listed taric's stun is shorter and Taric does less damage. Udyr doesn't gapclose as easily and the stun feels shorter. Udyr is also rare to see in lane.
