Regarding "Mages who need help after 8.9", thoughts from a Vel'Koz main

When I see things like that I expect that we'll get like +10 damage to one ability or something extremely minor like that.

I'm here to say that I don't care about things like that because I can't feel them in game. Maybe it'll bump the overall winrate by 1% but I don't care about that either. As a player what do I care about the overall winrate of my main when 99% of players who the winrate is taken from have less than 50 games on the champ?

What I really want as a Vel'Koz player is nerfs to hypermobile champs. I don't care about buffs to my champ.

I'm sure players of Viktor, Syndra, etc... have their own wants and it's probably not +10 damage to their Q.

I've talked with you before in another post but I want to repeat what I said just in case riot is reading these.

I'm a velkoz main too and I don't think velkoz needs more damage. He already has all the damage he needs. His issue is he's unreliable at dealing it because of his e. Velkoz's e is the worst skillshot in the game. It's difficulty is not worth its reward. Its a delayed, small AOE (its AOE yet you'll most likely hit one enemy champion anyway), and has dangerous range since it puts you in dash range all for a measly .75 sec suspension. That aint worth it. It's because of its suspension duration that makes velkoz's massive damage unreliable. Velkoz can land his whole combo and his enemies can still get away because if you do the math, velkoz's e suspension duration of .75 sec is a little less than a third of his ult duration of 2.5 secs. After the suspension duration is done, enemies can get away or turn on velkoz while he's still ulting which is ridiculous in my opinion.

Because of how bad his e is, I would suggest buffing his e suspension duration by .25 sec from .75 sec to 1 sec. That would make the reward for landing it better.

He is also underwhelming since his q does not pass through minions and in this moment of LoL most mages that are picked have pass-through abilities to ease the lane phase. His w is easy to dodge and deals small damage too.

And i agree on the damage terms. He has powerful damage potential, only that this year made him a weak pick and now i barely see him in plat+. This coming from a Vel'Koz main too. But i rarely play him now, he's not rewarding to play currently.

Yeah I guess it would be a nice buff but I don't think he needs any buffs. It wouldn't really change how it's too hard to land anything on hypermobile champs.

My issue is that a huge portion of the champ roster has too much mobility without really having any weaknesses to make up for it.

I mean, 10 damage on a core ability are quite a lot, especially early.

At level 1 it's pretty good but that's beside the point.

Nerf assassin is the solution yes. More fun in lane/game, and mage become more viable.
