So if Riot buffs ADCs as well as nerfing Junglers like they said on Reddit, a few champions to watch

I think that ADC could theoretically use buffs, although I believe the problem lies in the incentive scheme behind the bot lane Turret first blood gold and how little you are punished for not farming in the jungle and constantly ganking bot lane.

However, if they do plan to buff ADCs, here are the other champions who will be indirectly buffed, perhaps to an extreme level.

  1. Gangplank

I love this champion. Absolutely love him. However, he is always on a knife's edge between being broken and 'meh'. He's never garbage because a main or OTP can carry on him, but will be useless if played incorrectly. I've seen Gangplank broken OP, both on release and when the item 3078 item 3142 build was popular, but it seems like GP is broken whenever items are really efficient on him. I believe this is due to his gold generation being the best in the game (+36 gold per non cannon creep wave if you farm it all with Q or Q+E) and getting quick access to expensive items like item 3078 and item 3031 earlier into the game. If you buff his items, Gangplank could quickly get out of hand and become pick or ban levels of broken.

  1. Yasuo

Although historically he's most broken with a bruiser/tank build (remember item 3046 item 3022 item 3026 item 3068 item 3111 item 3156 ) a good buff to item 3031 item 3087 , and especially item 3046 could potentially make him broken again. I personally don't think he's that great right now, although pretty damn unfun to play against especially if they are good at him.

  1. Tryndamere

This would most likely be for low elo, but if we buff any Crit we have a chance of this guy becoming a monster, destroying Solo que for ages. I believe that his RNG passive is toxic for the game, because you can die to a couple lucky crits in the most frustrating way. However, he'll probably never make it into pro play, since he can only really split push without getting kited out, only contributing his W.

This is all theoretical, but I think it could happen if they buffed ADC items too far, due to the past nature of these champions getting out of hand.

I don't have a problem with your thread in general, but why do so many people not remember when bruiser Yasuo actually built...?

item 3078 item 3022 item 3111 item 3026 item 3068 item 3053

This was bruiser Yasuo. There were some preference-based variations (Voyboy preferred rushing phage, then getting Phantom Dancer, then finishing Triforce into Frozen Mallet and then full tank), but this was the basic build. And all of the bruiser Yasuo builds made use of Triforce. It was his core item.

I was actually planning to put that build in there for my thread since I was a real opponent against it back in the day when it was viable. I just thought of it more as a tank build because it lacked crit, although Trinity isn't a tank item, with Yasuo's shield, mobility, and wind wall it seemed to make him as tanky as one. I also got destroyed top lane by the build I put in the post.

The changes to Thunderlords will be a huge hit for GP, things might even out. Should still be worth keeping an eye on him if he's over/underperforming.

What can GP take after TLD is changed?

Sahn Uzal1 votes

He'll probably take

  • Thunderlords, but it'll be a lot worse.
  • Stormraiders Surge, kinda overkill but I guess it works
  • Fervor of battle, could provide him a lot in Skirmishes/Extended fights, but won't do anything for his initial combo.
  • Warlords, not likely, but it might help him in lane :P

I'll probably take Stormraider's, either that or pray to god Grasp gets buffs and abuse that instead. If I'm in normals playing AP Gangplank I'll grab Windspeaker's.

what tld change...

They'll be redoing the coding on TLD so it recognises damage sources, GP R, MF E, Morg W etc etc won't proc it on their own.

Trynd main here:

Tryndamere will probably need some nerfs if infinity edge or any zeal item is made better as a rush item. I doubt he will need any nerfs if they just make the mid game of these items better, like maybe it scaling is concave down on shiv or something, because by that point nobody tries to mess with Trynd anyway and a bit more power won't shore up his weakness in team fights or make him split harder, so having a little more power is completely superfluous.

ADCs don't need buffs, they need balancing. While there is always a meta, ADCs are always pulling it to the extremes, with maybe 3 champs hogging the spotlight. ADCs are never near the same lvl, either really subpar or Fotm broken
