Riot says Diana is a fighter, everyone else says she's an assassin?

Just wondering, Diana's classified as a fighter because she has no escape, I understand that. But more than often, people call her an assassin. I know this isn't important, I was just wondering which is correct :)

Riot doesn't have a freakin' clue about what an assassin really is on this game and how to properly score them for their mastery.

Diana's a fighter/skirmisher type. She's lethal as hell, but she has no escape and can sustain herself decently in a fight while most assassins do not stick around, they get in and out. I've heard people say Xin is an assassin, I'd go with broken fighter instead since he's meant again for sustained combat.

Generally if you can stay in a fight and put somebody down, that's a fighter. If your main goal is kill quickly, avoid a struggle, and escape quickly that's an assassin. Of course if you don't farm heavily and push turrets you won't get a good grade since that's what all assassins are apparently supposed to do. 20-0 Akali in 23 minutes gets no S because she didn't have time to get 300 farm? 30-3 Kat? This is troublesome to say the least since that's the only job of an assassin: Kill.

More of a diver. Assassin levels of burst but no escapes.

I think it depends how you build her and play her. Similar to AP Ekko vs Tanky Ekko.

She does have fighter aspects in her kit, though unfortunately they are all far to subpar to allow her to fullfill that role. Assassin is made viable with the way she can reset her ult using Q, there is enough burst there to nuke alot of champs, particularly when she gets rolling.

Would be cool to see a Diana rework at some point, though good luck to Riot, deciding if she is an assassin or a bruiser.. There are going to be plenty of unhappy people with either choice.

Were she to be reworked à la Galio we'll probably end with a very strong champ in need of nerfs. Her kit allows for broken shit if done wrong. If anything, she just needs a mini rework, just change a bit some of her skills and tweak the numbers.

Well enough saying a mini rework but thats generally the most risky sort of rework. And in tweaking numbers and minor ability changes.. Would they push her towards being a figher or an assassin? Once again.. There are people attached to both. Also "her kit allows for broken shit if done wrong", her kit is all over the place as it is lol

Having played her enough times I like her a lot because she does feel hybrid, strong enough to one shot squishies but weak enough to not duel a bruiser. However, I've seen good Dianas solo tanks. Her win rate is a bit low and her jungler potential has been killed completely, you're forced to use her mid.

I think Diana could be reworked into something original, a true hybrid. Leaning toward the Assassin side will make her too cancerous and she'll see many nerfs, her shield allows her to be quite trolly and surprisingly tanky. Make her a total bruiser and you just have Xin's cousin. She should stay hybrid, in my opinion.

Mmm still think some sort of light fighter AP champ would be cool. Like you said, respectable bust but some abilities that allow her to be some sort of pseudo fighter as well.

Fun to talk about, but honestly can't see it happening any time soon.

i dont rlly think she needs a rework. She may not fit in with either class but that's what makes her unique. I don't even want to imagine riot reworking my main to like they did to galio.

Don't like the galio rework? I personally love it aha, and hes probably now my go to tank. But I can understand that it sucks when a champ you love is reworked into something else.

im not saying it wasnt a good rework, galio's probably better now. its just that, im a diehard diana main and have been for a few yrs. If they reworked my champion and turned it into a bruiser, it would feel like im playing a different champion. the diana i once loved would be gone.

She's a fighter. Is just that building full AP she's insane. But she's definitely a fighter and more precisely a diver. She lacks the mobility necessary to be a real assassin.

assassin first.

she has no means of winning a 1v1 melee brawl. its going to be a face race and shes more item dependent than others.

Divers are the more mobile portion of the Fighter class. Divers excel at singling out high-priority targets to blitz toward, immediately forcing those targets (and their teammates) to deal with the diver’s presence. Divers are not as durable as the tanks or juggernauts of the world, but Divers can take their fair share of punishment while bringing enough damage to be a real kill threat if left unchecked.

Sounds familiar no? Players on the forums call anyone with damage an assassin-"Omg that Ahri/Xin/Rek'Sai/Teemo bursted me why won't Rito nerf all these assassins!"

She's a fighter that can seem like an assassin when fed enough like riven or yasuo or fiora or any other fighter that can 2 shot you when fed enough.

She's a diver. Like any other diver champ, whether it'd be XinZhao Jax MonkeyKing Vi if they go full AD glass cannon they can just 100-0 any squishy like any assassin. The only difference is that assassins have an escape after deleting, while divers have gap closers that are limited by cooldown from engaging.
