These champions are or were at one time grossly overpowered and no fun to play against. That's a hefty list. Nicely done, balance team.

That is all. Farewell.

name one single time in his existence, when garen was grossly overpowered.

hes in the top 5 most buffed champions of this game, because he has never been more than average, even at his best.

Since I started playing in season 3, he's been overpowered. He remains overpowered to this day. If it helps, I'll tell you how I define overpowered:

OVERPOWERED, Adj.

  1. A champion whose power growth is more reliably potent than the average champion.
  2. A champion who can be reliably played with minimal effort or practice to the same effect as an average champion with whom a player has had considerable practice.
  3. A champion whose mechanics are simple with no statistical downside as compared to other champion abilities within the same role.
  4. A champion whose mechanics provide substantial reward with little to no risk attached.
  5. A champion who can reliably deal game-changing damage through the late game without building damage.
  6. A champion who can reliably survive substantial damage through the late game without building resistances.

Garen fits definitions 2, 3, 4 and 5. You may disagree. It will likely not change my opinion on Garen.

a) who came up with this definition?

b) none of those points apply. even when garen is played the most effectiveness you can take the champion, he doesnt nearly have the same game impact as other champions, as he lacks the tools to do so

all youre saying here is that hes not entirely useless for having a low skill floor. but he was never ever "grossly overpowered".

all he can do, is to deal damage in melee range, while most other fighters with the same abilities also have something in their kits that allows them to impact the outcome of larger teamfights, or roam across the map to spread their advantage to other lanes.

like, just compare his kit to that of Camille he isnt even as strong in melee as her and cant straight up trade most of the time due to her passive alone, not even considering her ability to roam, or her lockdown ult.

for having so little to work with, hes not even the best champion at fighting in melee.

this is honestly ridiculous.

After much deliberation, I have decided your opinion does not sway me. An expected outcome. Your passion, however, is noted and appreciated.

You forgot the balance team biggest enemy - Ryze getting his no. 142 rework

P.s What did you write in your last post that it got deleted?

I laid it out as though I were quoting legislation by some bogus international body that manages fairness in hobbies and gaming, and stated that picking these champions classified as cheating and officially voided victories if they were chosen. Apparently Riot either thought I was making up a fake law and attributing it to a real organization, or I was just spreading trollish misinformation in general.

I think you may've read my intent in reverse, or perhaps gotten this confused with another post. I play these champions fine, as do the vast majority of people I've played with. That's the point. These champions are either so easy to play effectively, or so overtuned statistically, that they can reliably have exceptional performances with minimal effort. That is not good game design unless, like HotS, you build all of your characters like that.

(Side note: I don't even look at tier lists, and if I were outraged, I would be typing with considerably more bold font than this.)

Oh come on. How can you hate on my boy Trundle ?

He's more in the "at one time" category. He's not so bad these days, but back a couple years ago, he was monstrously strong for no apparent reason.

last time Nidalee was OP was in 4.16

and no im not counting the invisible spear exploit in season 5

or the time in 5.1 where she was disabled because she was bugged and pressing R would immediately set all your cooldowns to zero

or her having a 49% winrate in season 6 yet being 100% pick banned in pro play. (news flash: a champ that does high damage at long range but is required to land a long distance skillshot with no help with any form of cc TENDS to be more effective with voice chat and 8 ms ping with the best players CCing the enemy the except moment she throws the spear guaranteeing every spear ever thrown is going to hit)

but no.. apparently riot decided to balance nids spear as if it was an auto and 100% undodgeable like in lcs for 6 months giving her a 38% winrate for 3 months and a 42% winrate for the next 3 months.

how i hope i never have to go through that shit again.

nidalee is balanced around her being able to land the spear, in pro play.. with communication a and 8 ms ping.. that chance is going to be a lot higher.. that's life... you can't balance her around in solo Que around her allies setting up a perfect cc every time she ganks...

lol and Udyr ... yeah.. i still have nightmares about that guy... https://i.imgur.com/dtl7rLn.png

Scarily Udyr can be more OP than he generally is. No one plays him AP, but if you get that rare person who does, heaven help your ability to push. He flies all over the map and clears waves in 1.2 seconds.
