A very disgruntled yuumi player

To give you all an idea of where im coming from with this, im a yuumi otp who was d4 last season p4 this season sitting at just about 50% win rate (49 right now) and i am a very very disgruntled player. I do not enjoy playing this champ any longer after the changes that you guys made to her w. I was ok with her getting a cast time, i was ok with her e getting changed and the q damage getting changed. But the change that made this champion not fun for me any longer was the lockout duing WHATEVER cc hits her unless its soft cc. Doesnt matter what shes doing, the slightest amount of hard cc puts her w on cooldown. That is the most CRITICAL part of her kit and the most random cc in the middle of a teamfight puts it on cd. If you are in an elo below at least plat 2, you are dealing with players that say shes the most usless champ in the game because of that STUPID change. I have told you people time and time again to fix this, because it literally spaes yuumi players ability to show how good they really are with the champion! Skill expression OUT THE BLOODY WINDOW during laning phase. Cant eat a pyke hook, cant eat a thresh hook, cant eat a blitz hook, or a braum stun, cant eat a jhin snare, definatly cant handle naut, cant eat ANY form of hard cc for your adc or guess what, your as good as dead. I have told you people how to change her w to where she can still show skill expression, and still have counter play. Just get rid of the lockout during any kind of cc, and if she gets hard cc'd during flight or cast time, THEN it goes on a 5 sec cd. But NOOOOO, riot and their collective "200 years of game development experience" wont listen to the YUUMI ONE TRICKS OF THE LEAGUE SPACE THAT PLAYS THE CHAMPION GAME IN AND GAME OUT. She depends WAYYY too much on the other players of her team that this lockout literally makes her damn near unplayable unless she has a good champion beside her to help her, or shes anywhere in d4+. So again riot, im going to beg and plead to you great game makers with over 200 years of collective experience, GET RID OF THE BLOODY LOCKOUT UNLESS SHE IS CASTING HER W OR FLYING!

Totally agree. I have 300K on her, and I really stopped playing her after the rework. Removed all the "Skill" from the champion, promoting the "AFK Heal-bot" style.

The "W" going into 5s CD is just SILLY. Its exactly the OPPOSITE that they had to do. They had to give her a "Weakness", but like that you can just play "AFK"(Not going attack to AA for passive shield) and not risk.

Edit: And its funny how Im seeing others talk about her, when they have no knowledge about the champion at all.

Sorry man, hate to say it but Riot literally shot themselves in the foot with this one and y'all are gonna get the akali treatment because your character is uninteractive cancer exceedingly fun to lane against. They decided to take inspiration from Io (https://dota2.gamepedia.com/Io) by .....making a character completely noninteractive if her laner is anywhere even near comparable to her opponents? Nice.

I personally don't permaban yuumi, but I get why people do. She's quite honestly total bullshit to play against, demands you play engage champions if you ever want to win lane against her, is always very relevant (unless your entire team is getting stomped, and at that point nobody is so (¯_(ツ)_/¯)) because she can always abandon her laner and make a snowballing carry even more difficult to take down, and quite honestly puts all the pressure on your adc to position and lane against two opponents.

The cat's cute, so she gets a point for that, but for the vast majority of the playerbase she's a nightmare on either side since she either puts all the pressure on her adc (and if her adc is bad then you pay twice the cost for it) or turns her adc/carry into an untouchable, unkillable monstrosity.

Honestly, I'd be glad that they stopped at adding this (quite frankly minimal) amount of counterplay instead of just gutting your champion like riot does to every champion they make that stretches the bounds of gameplay to the point that she has. Personally speaking I wish they would've just turned her into a support that rotates around her adc (but is still targetable because untargetability is such a fun mechanic guys) and just balanced her around that. But hey, I don't have 200 years of design experience, so what do I know?

If your champion is untargetable for 80-90% of the match, you deserve to be punished severely for being caught out. We've already seen what Yuumi is like without the lockout mechanic and that's not something most people + Riot want to go back to.

It’s so fucking garbage, considering most of the time I get hit like mid-w by any small form of cc that was in no way intended for me (like Fidd crow) it just managed to fuck me right mid-w so I’m officially screwed and can’t do shit about it.

As someone who really likes playing as yuumi, i'd settle for the buff to her W they axed when she was changed where the lockout timer was reduced by her CDR. Considering the damage in game nowadays and how yuumi is one of if not the squishiest champ in the game, a 5 second lockout is a bit much for how easy it is for some champs to lock her out.

If you take the stupid channel off the W cast, the lockout is actually okay. It means you have to be 100% sure you can dodge everything while detatched, and I was very good at it myself. I enjoyed the medium risk, Medium reward gameplay of hopping on and off during clutch fights(especially when E scaled off missing HP), and I don't mind if they want to make it High-Risk, Medium-Reward, because the sum total of her kit is frustrating to play against if you're good at her.

Currently, it is physically impossible to not die if you detach in some situations, so you are forced to AFK and miss out on mana refund, last-second clutch shields, empowered autos, repositioning your ult, getting in range of another teammate, etc.

Nobody else is getting a death sentence from full mana/hp or causing a gank to turn into an enemy triple kill just because they got hit by a Yasuo tornado or a Trundle Pillar. I become useless to my allies, a bag of 300 gold to my enemies, and everyone regrets me playing Yuumi. If I could hover over my ally and stay in range and duck those things with speed, I will accept the high-risk of relying on my reaction time.

There are people whose entire job is making sure game inputs feel responsive. That 180-ping simulation of a channel time is one of the few truly horrendous live gameplay decisions I've seen Riot make. I am a big fan of Riot's design team (unpopular, I know), but that was mind-bogglingly below their standards of quality.

It's been a year since Tahm is dead but they hotfixed overnerfed Akali 12 hours later. Meanwhile Tahm sits at 41%wr in soloqueue for 7 months streight.

Aurelion Sol's kit is destroyed too. Fuck it, I like that champions too, but riot doesn't really care since they don't earn enough money selling their skins.

Imagine riot do this to Yasuo for an example and change his passive and windwall mechanics. Community will go nuts and will shred some tears here on boards so he get hotfixed 2 minutes later, sad but true.

Yuumi is actually pretty strong right now, she's being banned and picked fairly often in pro and my clash team picked her and we went 3-0, picking her all 3 games.

i wish she scale with HP instead of AP honestly so she can build knight vow and locket, then rework her into a low damage CC machine meant to body block the enemy then use W to safety, but that would overlap a bit with rakan, she should be encourage to leave her W state because of something other than "i need mana also let try desperately to get one auto and not die so i can give a shield" imagine if she would actually be harder to kill? but CCing her host would pop her out and force her to use W on another target

Alright now as a non insane Yuumi player, I just want the cast time off her W so that she feels fluid to play again. The whole getting hit by cc and it putting our W on CD is kinda the whole point of the nerfs we got. The W cast time makes me feel like im lagging when i play her and it annoys me.

I thought the w thing was cool. her counter is cc you only unhook when you know enemies control is on cool-down.

What I find stupid however, is that slows are included. So items can pretty much keep you from reattaching as well.

The cool-down should be in conjucture of the type of crowd control in my opinion. If they decide to fix this I hope they do the following.

Knockups +4s cd Snares: +6s cd Stun: +8s cd or simple just allow only those 3 to prevent w.
