Still trying to figure out how % Armor/magic Pen is not classified as an unhealthy "hidden power"

And by hidden power I mean you do not see it having some kind of debuff or reduction the stats. It just passively ignores a % of your armor with no indication. You do not see that you are having 90 of your 200 bonus armor ignored unless you calculate it out.

Black cleaver with it's % armor reduction on the other hand is not hidden power since you see your armor getting reduced when you take a hit.

Perhaps riot it is time to removed this hidden power of % armor penetration and make marksmen get black cleaver with it's % armor reduction instead. Or are you having double standards about hidden power as well?

You can literally see the item in their inventory. That removes any "hidden" bit of their power. Hidden power is like Kassadin's passive. You only know what it does if you've played himbefore, and there's no way for you to tell why he seems to take less damage unless you've played him before and already know the passive. You can't just click a kass and see his abilities. You can click a champ and see that void staff just sitting there.

This is reaching hard. You can see the item in their inventory. You can read the effect. It's as clear as any stat is.

I mean, hell, if we're going to stretch the definition of hidden power this much, I could make anything look like hidden power. Here, let's do it. "Armor and MR are hidden power. The enemy just passively takes less damage with no indication. I don't see the % of my damage that will be reduced unless I calculate it out".

Black cleaver with it's % armor reduction on the other hand is not hidden power since you see your armor getting reduced when you take a hit.

Are you really watching your armor value on a moment-to-moment basis to see when it's going down? If so, that seems like a pretty big waste of your attention.

So black cleaver is fine but last whisper or whatever its name is now, is not? I would say that black cleaver is much more op and is the important reason why champions like jayce are op.

but 90 of 200 bonus armor considering a champ is lvl 18 (for example ) lets use Malphite has 92 base armor so you still end up with 182 armor after the 45% reduction from item 3035

This is about riot double talking on "hidden power" which armor/MR penetration is.

its not hidden you know that the item provides 45 % bonus armor penetration which dont effect your base armor stats and like NINJA SWAGGY says you can see what is being built. its there to be known and easily calculated

but for my example 200 bonus armor + 92 base armor = 292 total armor before reduction

but over all after the 45% " hidden power" reduction you only lose 100 armor over all... when hit with that item which brings it down to

but in terms of over all reduction you are losing about 34.5 % of armor due to the so called hidden power. where as black cleaver is 30% reduction of total armor reducing your total armor from 292 to 204 armor

so with the 45% reduction from item 3035 out of 292 armor we are left with 182 effective armor and with 30% reduction from item 3071 we are left with 204 effective armor , a difference of 22 effective armor

item 3071 is the most overpowered item in the game. It gives a shit ton of HP, damage, 20% CDR, a speed boost, and potentially AOE armor reduction that also benefits teammates. All for a strong build path and relatively low cost.

item 3071 3100 gold is a good amount... considering the highest cost items are item 3089 3800 item 3078 3733 and item 3072 3700 gold and item 3031 3600 gold

Consider core damage items for damage classes ALL cost way more for far less value. item 3031 item 3072 item 3116 item 3089 item 3078 item 3157

ok lets take 1 of those item 3116 3200 gold

100g more then black cleaver 100 more hp then black cleaver

black cleaver offers 50 ad where as rylais offers 100 ap

black cleaver gives movement speed passive rylais slows effectively making your champ faster (ms boost ) then the target who is subjected to the slow

yes bc has armor pen which is subjective to getting stacks up to 6... not always applied to the fullest and 20 cdr is nice

but they are on par with each other all things considered

It is really strong, but the build path is actually pretty bad.
