It happens to me, when i see i dont have an ardent support and i get noticeably annoyed

people freak the fuck out in-game when the support doesnt have ardent censor

people ASK in champ select if the support is going to play a champion that can make use of ardent censor

people get angry when you dont RUSH ardent censor first item

people blame entire losses on not having an ardent censor support

WOW. Who would've thought this steroid meta, where you're pumping artificial stats into your team wouldn't be this fucking annoying.... This is what the support role has come to. Really inspiring

I agree with this. Not everyone is addicted to them that way. But lots of people are. They tend to actually throw a fit and ruin the game.

The sad truth is, this game's perception of skill and participation is all in the K/D Ratio, it's beyond too late for Riot to change that, unless they make a full relaunch for the support role in general.

Ardent's not just about K/D though. The AS helps marksmen take down towers much faster, and the On-Hit drain+AS boost means you don't need the whole team present to snag Dragon/Rift Herald, just the support and ADC. It's an all-rounder item that helps with teamfights, dueling, AND objectives.

You're very right on that, those are good uses for Ardent, although all I'm saying is I wish that the game was not seeing the game as "More kills, more skill", and more like "Object damage = smarter", if you catch my drift.

I think I do, at the same time though you can't deny that taking several of the enemy team out late game at the same time makes taking objectives orders of magnitude easier, especially if you've got a good splitpusher.

That said, the team has to be willing to follow up kills with taking said objectives, and there isn't a hell of a lot you can do to defend if the other team's kill pressure is too high. I think the issue here is with towers being so damn weak late game; it only takes marginal gold lead for the enemy team to dive your team under one or more towers and barely notice.

as a supp main i think it's pretty sad how some rush item 3504 instead of item 2049 and it's still viable

It's standard to get to t2 gold item then rush a complete item before getting SS (before coin and ardent were the meta, it was item 3098 > item 1001 > item 3107 > item 2049 , in that order). This allows you to get lane impact early on, and the vision of SS just...isn't as valuable in laning phase, when you often have to babysit your ADC to make sure they don't die. It becomes more valuable later-on, in team phase.

While pro-play may rush SS, that's because, there, vision is key. In almost every other tier, vision isn't quite as useful, as people just don't utilize it as efficiently. For lower tiers, it's far more impactful to rush whatever support item is best at the time for your class.

I find it sad when some rush an item 3504 even when it is completely useless. Just recently had a game with a support Nunu who rushed Ardent, didn't upgrade his item 3301 into item 3096 until 45 minutes in, and never bought a item 2049 .

So? What is Janna shield going to do for you unless you're fighting someone? Of course Nunu needs to be fighting for ardent censor to be useful, the same applies for any champion because ardent censor is a combat buff LOL.

As a fairly regular Support player, I never rushed Sightstone since season 4. I make a point of buying one before team-fights start to break out, but I'd much rather rush a combat item while we're still in laning phase. And that has always been true, even before Support Items got OP effects.

Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal. I've been doing a bunch of taric recently and no one has freaked out at me. I've even had better success with taric. What is stunned can't life steal, what is is immune can't be healed off of, omen also sucks a bunch of ardents benefit out the window.

Getting tired of the AC que que, adapt. CC is always the superior meta.

Haven't needed it, been bedazzling foes easy enough without it, including "ardent abusers". I'd rather not lose defensive stats and run taric as the front line he's meant to be.

I remember back when ardent censer was considered not good.. then eventually it saw pro play and now you have some people saying things like "Yeah I knew ardent censer was op since it was released in alpha. " XD

I ran into a Vayne last night that asked me if I was going to rush Ardent Censer. (I was Nami)

I answered with "no" and braced myself for some serious flak. She didn't freak out. No one did. I built Nami like I normally do (based on the current situation). I eventually did end up building Ardent Censer anyway.

In my opinion it's not super imperative to rush Ardent Censer above other key items, like Sightstone for instance.

I got the ardent fever too, i´ve played a number of marksmen and attackspeed reliant champs like Jax, shyv and Irelia.....even Seju for stuns.

Ardent sickness is very real.

.....Even get twitches when i don't build it on Sona quick enough.

On a serious note, I can't wait to have its passive reworked entirely. If you're actually not rushing it before t2 boots and t3 gold items you are considered trolling.

Yea also when I look at the enemy bot lane and I see no enchanter or i see a lucian / ezreal its just one of the best feelings in league of legends right now; knowing I wont have to go up against a talentless right clicking mongoloid for once.

Generally when people ask in champion select "Which suppport pairs well with {Insert marksment}". I usually just respond "Ardent Censor"

Ardent Censer is quickly becoming a drug that ADCs ask for so that they can keep themselves high with their free stats from their support's shields, heals and that item.

never seen someone whine about it and i main support, but to be fair:

I've only played like 10 games as supp since i got back to league
half those times i play a tank who doesn't need it and nobody says anything/the other half i'm lulu and i get it and nobody says anything
