If these unsealed spellbook changes go through Malzahar won't have a keystone anymore.
Just saying. Most mages already don't have a keystone because comet is that much of a joke compared to electrocute but most other mages haven't been neutered.

The point of the runes is that there isn't an optimal route for every champ in the game so you can choose what you want game by game.
Tbh I run malz with Aery now anyway. The nerfs to his kit meant I needed more damage early, and his W still being bad meant that manaflow was a must. Oh wait, they changed that too. Well another indirect nerf to riots most abused mage lol
I run my Malzhar with Comet, mostly becouse i'm going to push in early a lot, then Comet scales better with AP and damage. I guess Ultimate Hat and the new Presence of Mind are to go runes, that actually matter.
