In my opinion, he could be put on the list for a full blown VGU.
Poor thematic, clunky kit, hardly no skill expression, and devolves into nothing more than an R bot every game.
Keep his W, and make his E his passive (landing an ability puts his E on them). Replace EVERYTHING else.
They abandon all balanced champions. The only champions being picked are the overpowered and broken champions.
I've seen a lot of posts from malz mains wanting something to change. Riot has ignored them all.
Yes I'd like to see a rework of some kind, but if they just wanted to make him viable again, it's his W that needs the attention. They are meant to be the void creatures that will destroy the world, but they can't actually kill anything. They're slow, do little damage except to minions and have no hp.
His e is the core of his character, with q and r resets and it's 'ping' after its target dies making it great with liandy's and rylais, but his ult is the only thing in his kit that gives him kill pressure. Now they've taken that away with the recent and unrelenting nerfs, a full combo from a level 6 malz on an assassin like kat does 38% of their max hp, with no follow up available.
So yes I agree he needs attention, whether it be a rework or a simple fix to his current kit, I fear riot will do neither until late in the season if at all and will continue putting their attention into champions that least need the work like ahri and akali. (Even the long awaited Aatrox rework seems unnecessary now tbh!)
