Memes should not affect gameplay
Players who enforce or project the stereotypes associated with champions or roles create a worse environment than the stereotypes themselves.
I understand that this isnt the case all the time, and that maybe the stereotypes have some truth to them. But it's even more toxic to call someone that you have no experience playing with toxic because of a meme. It's fun to call teemo mains toxic as a joke or because it's funny, but when players start taking it seriously and actually start being an asshole to someone just because they pick teemo is ridiculous. There are other examples too.
Adc's are always toxic. I've played adc quite a bit, and the only time when I begin to realize when I'm becoming toxic is when the the fill support screws up and blames me. That i can most of the time brush off. But when the rest of the team who wasn't even watching starts to throw around names and slurs because the support just has to be right, is when it gets aggravating. I get that most of the other adc mains i've played with are super touchy about anything negative you say. But treating adc's like crap because of the meme we've created is even more wrong because it drives the players we want to play with away from the role, and if they actually were toxic then they arent gonna give a crap.
All I'm asking is that many of the team mates I would otherwise deem "Non toxic" still enforce negative stereotypes about me just because of the role or champion i pick, completely disregarding how i play, act, and treat the other players in the lobby.
