Zed is such a troll pick

the only circumstance for this champion to be a decent pick is if you're smurfing and can stomp hard enough to end in 15 minutes before he becomes a complete liability.

let's talk about the implications of picking zed over a meta mid laner (mage):

• he's an extremely selfish pick because he is an assassin and AD. your team risks losing at champ select should the jungle/top not want to play/are bad at playing the much more limited pool of AP top/jungles.
• he has to commit to fights unlike mages. yes, he might be able to disengage safely because of his ult, but because he has to get up close in a fight he's incredibly easy to peel/cc// to mitigate most or all of his damage
• he has poor waveclear. yes he has waveclear but he has to use all of his abilities to do so and sometimes even that is not enough. it doesn't matter if your zed went 6/0 in lane if pushing is impossible without baron because the enemy picked lux and can just clear wave after wave with ease.
• he does not scale. he's an assassin so this goes without saying. yes he can still 100-0 a squishy later but it becomes harder when the ap carries have have zhonyas, the ad carries have shields, the tanks are tankier, the supports are ready to exhaust, and 5v5 teamfights happen. not to mention that mages can 100-0 people like he does, but from the backline with AoE
• no utility apart from a pathetically short range slow

if you need to fulfill the niche an AD mid, why on earth would anyone in their right mind pick Zed when you have shit like who can reliably clear waves, burst safely from the backline via barrel combos, and bring more utility with his huge global aoe ulti?

pretty much any high elo mid lane including faker, bjerg, apdo, froggen, etc. will all tell you not to pick this champion up because he simply isn't worth maining. just won d3 promos today because enemy mids felt inclined to show us their cool new championship zed skins.

keep your shadow assassin waifu out of ranked if you want to win. lol.
