gangplank needs a buff

as someone who identifies as a hermaphrodite snake, i really believe gangplank needs to be buffed.

  • he get pushed around top lane by every meta pick very easily. on top of this, he is probably the easiest champion to dive pre 6 in the entire game
  • his start itemization is piss poor. he is an AD whose optimal starts are item 2031 item 1027 and item 1056 for fuck sake
  • he is a late game carry that will never get to late game because his early last hitting is bad and he is very easily denied farm by most meta picks since he is melee and has early mana issues
  • his matchups are braindead lane bullies who scale just as well as he does
  • if you pick him mid, your team must build around him and pick an AP elsewhere
  • if you pick him top, your jungle must pick around him or you will have no frontline
  • there is no reason to pick GP over Kennen

how about we stop having GP bias and buff him so he isn't bad

I don't think Gangplank being weak for a bit is a bad thing, he has been strong for a long ass time, and people kinda got sick of seeing him.

Agreed. I guess it was somewhat smart of them to make it harder for him to get to late game, but a lot of the nerfs were too much. His ult CD is way too long. But I know the sheep on these boards will downvote you because asking for GP buffs is blasphemy to them.

His ult and passive got fucking annihilated instead of being tuned properly, it's quite sad. He should at the very least have a respectable passive. If Riot took the right approach with tuning his kit they would've made him capable of winning his battles through smart and careful decision-making rather than Q spam and sitting around for barrels to come back up. It doesn't help that Riot hurt his buildpath with the trinity force changes so badly that he's become a penetration abuser rather than the crit champion he was meant to be and Riot seems to think this is okay.

Riot did mention they wanted to prevent GP from bullying other lane opponents early game, especially getting early game kills. Not that i think their approach of nerfing him was the best, they could have done a better job at tuning him but I think GP nerfs were simply "panic nerfs". Riot has some of the best reactions to overpowered champs lol.
