It's not about playing Meta or not, that's just what that player is trying to make it look like.

Someone who was toxic and playing off meta would be treated the same as someone toxic and playing meta. Riot's manual audit would have banned him regardless of what he was playing.

just start asking your team to pick your champ and your build. im sure they'll know more about what youre good at than you do anyway. they might even help you get to challenger.

He wasn't banned for off meta, he was banned for ruining someone's game. The thing about him playing smite skinned support isn't the problem, it was that he knew it was gonna be fine with his team and he did it anyway, even going as far to have macros for his team asking him not too. A lot of people don't seem to realize that this is a team game and that if your team doesn't want to play a certain strat, then they probably shouldn't ruin their teams game by using that strat, in this case the Singed forced a double jungle.

So I should be banned because I like playing a certain champion however someone on my team hates that champion and tell me that im not allowed to play it? You realize this one case is going to set a bad tone for the rest of us players. Some of us play the game for fun and like trying out new things.

Ruining somones gaming experience is such a vauge term. I have had games where ive "pinged too much" and was reported for giving info on a map. So will pings eventually be a bannable offense because someone doesn't like hearing the noises?

But the main issue in this case is the fact that someone enjoyed playing a champion within a certain role that that champion isn't known for. Of course people are gonna cry and complain. However riot in the past has stated that not playing meta is a non bannable offense, so what they did to circumvent this was claim he was ruining people games.

TLDR; This case is a joke and the rioter/rioters that handled it did so badly.
