Why can suppression be canceled by some items and champions spells but not by Cleanse?
Shouldn't an item with 90 second cooldown active logically be weaker than a summoner with 210 seconds cooldown?

Suppression specifically prevents the usage of Summoner Spells.
Cleanse is a summoner spell.
This is the correct answer

Cleanse is a summoner spell.
technically so do stuns cleanse being the exception
They actually don't. Stuns disable mobility-based summoner spells, but other summoners are still usable. You can exhaust, ignite, smite, etc.
Suppressions were created specifically so that cleanse couldnt remove them. Having a summoner negate an entire ult's impact on a champion like malz or WW didnt work well for their kits and was not balanceable.
QSS etc on the other hand has a gold and item slot cost associated with it where the champ would much prefer a better item in its slot.
You have to buy this item ,and it doesn't give you much stats; you don't need to buy spell.

The Qss route is better if you're an ADC/Bruiser. Cleanse is better for Mages.
correct, but Qss is also taken by mages, if enemy has suppression
I think cleanse should remove suppressions because it's only logical since it's a summoner spell. But I know riot made it so you can't use it for cleansing suppressions since mages had zhonyas. But now since everyone has a stopwatch they should really make it so cleanse will work against suppresisons.
