Warwick and Soraka might no longer be connected in the Lore

But their interaction in game is pretty damn fun.

She's constantly making herself low healing teammates, making Warwick always able to get the Movement speed towards her.

Kinda ironic if you ask me.

Irony doesn't mean what you think it means.

Irony is amusing coincidence including something contradicting. Warwick in his original lore needed to hunt down Soraka for her heart. That is no longer the case in his new lore. However, indirectly and coincidentally, Soraka helps Warwick gain the bonus from W by making herself low on HP, encouraging him to hunt her down, simulating coincidentally contradicting lore feel that is no longer needed.

So yeah, it is ironic and it seems you don't know the meaning of the word.

I love how you purposefully skewed with the definition to make a shitty forced/false point, coincidences are not Irony though going by your region,it's possible English isn't your first language.

There are multiple types of Irony ,the above post would go under situational irony which ONLY means the OPPOSITE of what's expected,it is not unexpected for a character that lowers their own health to be hunted by a character that chases low health targets.

English isn't my primary language though I've been learning it since the first grade of elementary school.

And I still seem to have better reading comprehension than you in this language.

I never said Irony is coincidence, I said

Irony is amusing coincidence including something contradicting.

The thing that is subject of irony tends to not be intended that way and thus is result of coincidence, in combination with being usually amusing AND based on contradiction opposed to what is expected.

Also as to what coincidence means, one does not need only English If he knows other languages. Coincidence consists of Co- and Incident. Incident means event, Co- marks multiple elements mixed together (as in Correlation, where multiple elements are mixed together by being in certain relationship), in this case it means multiple events becoming one superior model resulting in something. It's sync of various events.

EDIT: Or better explained by etymology dictionary, Co- marks multiple elements at once, in this case multiple events at once.

c. 1600, "exact correspondence in substance or nature," from French coincidence, from coincider, from Medieval Latin coincidere (see coincide). From 1640s as "occurrence or existence during the same time." Meaning "a concurrence of events with no apparent connection" is from 1680s, perhaps first in writings of Sir Thomas Browne. http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=coincidence

And holy shit you've brought your alt accounts to upvote your nonsense :D

Also looking at other of your posts, I already see arguing has no point. You say in one topic:

Ahri has enough skins to justify not getting one for the next 3 years

Then when someone points out it's irrelevant by what Riot says you go:

That's cool, did I say Ahri isn't going to get more because she has a lot of skins? No,I didn't.

And downvote the guy who pointed the truth :D Like a potato.

I don't really understand what you're trying to get at here. I don't really think either of you are right, since it sounds like it's more of an ego fest, however you're reading comprehension and understanding of the literary devices is just as shit. Situational Irony is literally just when what is expected to happen, doesn't really happen. For an example, so I don't spoil a story I'll just say the trope, a chosen hero being hyped up too destroy an evil villain. It's his destiny. BUT, to actually defeat him, he has to die first. The audience is expecting an epic battle, but instead you witness the Hero purposely dying (something you might not even know yet and will probably be revealed later.)

That, is situational Irony. An expected outcome, that doesn't actually happen due to certain circumstances. It's not even verbal Irony either. At the end of the day, this interaction has always been in the game in the first place. Soraka gets low due to her rework, it activates Warwicks scent pre/post warwick...? So, in this particular situation, he doesn't meet the requirements for verbal or situational Irony. Not only has this been in the game since Soraka's rework, but it's also expected. It's quite amusing and thought out, but NOT ironic. Nothing about it is Ironic. It's more or less a tribute or Easter egg, but can it even be considered that since the interaction always existed? It's now just global? Maybe the emphasis makes it so.

While I don't enjoy being confrontational, you were both being rather ignorant. So, don't take it personally, but he incorrectly described why you are wrong while you still weren't correct. Then you went on too attack him as a person, which is disgusting. Debate should be civil. So while I apologize for being rude in the first paragraph, it felt necessary due to your attacks. Have a wonderful rest of your day.

Irony:

the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect.

0mDaYXMiyu5 votes

Way to prove his point by listing the definition of verbal irony, when they're talking about situational irony, you know, since the post has nothing to do with expressions. But you couldn't figure that out by yourself so RIP.

LordSirChipmunk1 votes

Um... A few things:

  1. Verbal irony and situational irony both have the same thing in common in the sense that it's the opposite of what someone says or what happens, regardless of if somebody says it, or if it is an event that happens. My definition was mutual between pretty much all forms of irony.
  2. My post was not supposed to prove his point, but rather to disprove his point. What I was trying to say is that he was incorrect, but I obviously wasn't clear. My mistake for not elaborating on that one.

Also, Warwick hates Singed. Singed is about getting people to chase him, Warwick is about chasing people down. Also quite the interesting interaction.

also if he latches on to him to land infront of him, singed can just throw him back.

Sire Hippington3 votes

That can go the other way aswell though, if WW times his Q right, he can avoid singed's flung with it as he gets displace immune duering his Q.

She sacrifices her own well being to help men in need. Even when they betray her like Warwick had when he was still a man. Sobs Soraka is too kind-hearted. It's great how gameplay fits in with lore, I really hope they do not remove the current relation between Soraka and Warwick.

At the same time, she still can fuck WW over by keeping allies above 50% and haveing that instant silence vs his ult, so he still has a reason to hate and chase her beyond her dropping low.

At the same time, she can disable his blood hunt by healing the similarly low health teammates. It's not a one sided thing.

Their old origin story was very loose and I'm glad they've modernized Warwicks lore. It seemed almost corny, the Story between Wick and Raka.

That being said, it would have been cool if they would have kept them somewhat related.
