Azir is trash tier now?

I took a long break from league, because the game was just making me more and more toxic, and I knew I had to calm down, and take a different look at games than normal. Anyway I used to play Azir a lot on another account, and did well if I played good. Now it seems like even if I play Azir damn near perfect, I am horribly reliant on jungle ganks/team now, and my ultimate is literally useless vs dash champions. What good is a wall that doesn't block dashes vs an Akali, or Irelia? I normally ban Irelia since she is aids, but a good Zed is arguably much worse, so I switched to banning Zed. Insecing with Azir's new ultimate is suicide as they will just all flash or dash the wall, and slaughter you, even with hourglass. I'm thinking about abandoning Azir all together, and picking another aoe champ mid, but I've already invested over 200 games into Azir in total. What do you guy's think? Maby I am building wrong? Playing Azir just feels hopeless, and sometimes the support even out damages me, if I have a bad lane opponent I can't poke like Irelia. I've gotten really good at manipulating the wave, and freezing, but normally I get no ganks even when farming under tower for 5 minutes straight, Because Irelia will just jump away I can't gank sorry!, or Akali can just shroud out is what my jungler tells me most of the time, even though I can e q ult her back.
