PSA: Not every game is winnable in 5.22

The "It's anyone's game at this point" mentality has been around since the beginning of MOBAs. Most of the time, it's true.

But when the average game length is so low that the /ff time might as well be reduced to 15 minutes?

Not so much.

Pre-5.22, unless one team was just getting absolutely demolished, it would take roughly 30 minutes into the game for one team to get a significant upper hand over another, at which point it was still possible for a comeback. Now, this often happens before the 20-minute mark.

Don't get me wrong- I often think this way, too. Even in normal games, I try to tough it out if it looks like we have a chance at making a comeback- late-game, all it takes is one good teamfight to push hard and win the game.

...But there isn't really a late-game in this patch (unless you want to call 30 minutes "late").

If the enemy team has more than one champion that benefits from the absurd changes to AD and/or crit items and masteries, and they snowballed pretty much from the start, and nobody on your team can really match their damage until late game (pre-5.22 "late," that is)... save your team the trouble and just put the "It's anyone's game at this point" mentality to the side until the preseason is smoothed out (in normal games, at least- there's no point in allowing the game to drag on another 10 minutes when there's no LP at stake and the rest of your team is crying out in misery. Ranked games, not wanting to surrender is totally justifiable... it's just probably going to be a hell of a lot more miserable trying to make a comeback than it was last patch).

5.22 isn't league's final form.

40% of my games this patch have gone to 40 minutes. Not sure what you're complaining about.
