These Lore Changes Are SERIOUSLY Permanent?

Most of the new "lores" are only a few sentences and can barely be classified as a paragraph. I honestly thought this would just be for the event, and then they would change back. Guess I was severely wrong on that assumption.

At the very, VERY least, give Skarner his old lore back- you took away the depth of his character (the story of how he's the last of his kind, and is more sad and misunderstood than angry, etc.) and changed him into a stereotypical angry-for-no-reason-whatsoever-guardian-of-some-random-shite. Give Skarner some love. He misses his kind.

I have no more faith in Riot's lore team. They want us to wait a few months while they write up some stuff to release that's good and fills things in?

First, if you're going to disassemble your entire game story, maybe write those exciting things up along the way before you do so, rather than destroy then "hey guys don't worry its coming soon".

Second, the lore was alot better before they decided characters should be generic whatevers. See Shurima and the new Shadow Isles. Or maybe in half a year one or two of those characters will get some story. And if there isn't a compelling bio in game, why have that tab, and why would I then go look for it on the website? You can't hook me on a story in game?

I'm not sure how many times this needs to be explained:

Whether or not you agree with their decision to do so, Riot's plan is to replace the lore displayed in-game with these short-form summaries while keeping the full-length pieces available on the website. Some tech problems have apparently been keeping them from fully committing to this approach, with the same piece appearing in both places, but they tell us that they have no plans to do away with the traditional bios. We're stuck in this awkward middle-ground wherein the guys at Riot have fallen horribly behind schedule and thus can only show us half-baked ideas rather than their true intentions

I realise it's been a full month since the Shurima update went live, but the lore team still need more time to get their act together and properly lay their cards on the table; we haven't seen everything they wanted to launch alongside Azir, and that includes the full-length bios for characters like Skarner and Rammus. It's a pretty damning indictment that they still haven't solved these problems thirty days down the line, but no amount of negative press and hyperbole on our end is going to resolve their tech problems and get the full bios on the site any sooner.

All we can do is wait and hope that they'll be with us soon(tm).

Honestly, the whole reason this was a train wreck is when the team took out the original lore, they replaced it with a story regarding Shurima, not a narrative re-establishing the geopolitical canon of Runeterra.

The problem is that the stage is incomplete. What the heck is going on with Bandle city? Bilgewater? No mention.

Riot's Narrative team sticks to releases and creates events, the obvious problem there is that it narrows your focus. You can't tear up the JoJ and the IoW and then NOT explain how the world works without them and start talking about Shurima, it's an unnecessary tease.

Less they waste on lore the better. I don't care about the toons back story and I am sure a lot of other people don't either. This is league of legends, its not a story, its just one big battle as far as I can tell. I would guess that right now, a lot of people would rather have Riot spend money that would be wasted on a 'Lore team' too perhaps form a team to take care of IP FARMING situation that is essentially ruining the game for anyone that is not lvl 30 and plays summoners rift exclusively. A couple of paragraphs should be more than enough to tell you the toons name and where he came from. As to the life views, motivations and spiritual affiliations the Champ is into, I just do not care. If they removed all the lores from the champions today it would do nothing to change the game for me. I started when Janna had just been released, taking several breaks away from the game I keep coming back because LOL is good fun. The lore adds nothing to the fun experience to me and never has As I see it people are free to create, so create fan based lore if you are so disgusted, post it on the board maybe Riot will use it.

lore in client are just short introductions full lore is still 100% intact on the website

I'm hoping that it is only bare for now to give it time to grow, can only hope, also I find it funny that people now want Skarner's old lore because people were calling it shit and a cop out on release.

Long answer: Yes but wait for longer lores on the site when technical issues are solved.
