If Ignite Can Proc Electrocute, Why Doesn't Heal Proc Aery or Guardian?

Title.

Blah blah Ignite is overtuned, I won't rehash old arguments in this post. I know I'm preaching to the choir.

Ignite seems to be the only summoner spell that procs Keystone runes. And I haven't tested it yet, but I'm fairly certain Ignite only procs Electrocute too, and not Aery or Comet.

This aspect of the game could do with a little more consistency and transparency.

Heal does indeed proc Aery. *Source - Aery Zoe Player~

Not sure about Guardian though

Guardian requires you to take damage,

Aery is procced by summoner heal

Why did this thread get upvoted lmao. Heal does proc aery and guardian has no interaction with heal at all, it's procced from damage.

Good question.

It has to do with electrocute and aery, not anything else. It's attacks, not spells, so it's treated similar to an aa (minus all the aa specific stuff). So, it should proc Electocute and Aery, not comet.

Smite procs electrocute too

That's a good question, actually. Though I don't think Heal could be considered "targeted"

Honestly I don't think it matters if there's a difference or not. I think everyone could agree ignite shouldn't proc electrocute at all. It's not an instance of your champion doing damage, and it again(like I always complain about Electrocute even as a Kat player), makes Electrocute too easy to proc. I personally wish they'd just make Electrocute harder to proc in general by making you put yourself in risky situations(like an instant aftersock after using 2 or 3 abilities if you get close to enemy champions, or proc it on autos after 2 abilities, so that champions have to get close to deal the rune damage).

I'm pretty sure all summoners that can be cast on enemies proc electrocute. I can remember proccing it with Exhaust once.

If I'm not mistaken, Electrocute procs on third damage instance from any source while Comet procs off abilities (and it apparently doesn't count Summoner Spell as one). Hence why it may proc Ele but not Comet. It's third damage instance but not from ability. As for Aery, dunno.
